Just like with the little “Love Is…” comic that Mr. N cut out of the paper for me, I try to think of fun new ways to make him smile. Sometimes I’ll Google the word “love” and email him a cute picture when he’s at work. Most recently I sent this…

He gets me “just because” flowers every once in a while that make me smile big every time.

Last week from work, I sent him a note in the mail that simply read “Thanks for always getting the mail and everything you do! Love, me”. So when he got the mail a few days later, he had a little surprise waiting for him in our mailbox.

I think it’s important to show your love that they are appreciated and thought of so, as the title says, I’m declaring today the unofficial National Do Something Sweet For Your Sweetie Day. Breathe on the bathroom mirror and draw a little “I <3 you” with your finger so when they take a shower it’ll show up from the steam. Leave a Post-It with a “you’re my favorite” in the coffee mug cabinet so when they go to grab one in the morning, they’ll see it. Lay out their favorite blanket and pillow on the couch so when they come home from work, they have a cozy spot waiting for them. Take 2 seconds out of your day to do something small but special to let your love know that you are thinking about him/her and make your sweetie smile.

So, I did this 2 days ago, so it probably doesn’t count, but my husband hates getting into bed if the sheets are cold, especially if he’s just getting out of the shower, so instead of laying on my side of the bed, I laid on his so that the sheets would be warm. It was appreciated.

Love this. I do this all the time We’re long distance so it’s hard to do instant stuff (since it’s gotta be mailed) but we try! He just sent me a box of goodies with notes that say….. “on the first day of Valentine’s my true love gave to me” and I can only open a specific one each day!

you’re so cute. I try to do little things once a week. On Monday hubby had a biiiiig test, so I made one of his favorite dinner - stuffed pork chops with risotto and green beans. Not a normal Monday night meal for us, but he appreciated the effort and it was nice to do something for him! Now I’m hoping he’ll make me brownies sometime soon

Awwww this is such a cute idea! And…as it is 10pm and the day is almost over, I might relocate this “holiday” to tomorrow…hehe! I sometimes sneak a little note in Mr. B’s lunch before he leaves for work… I love that you sent him a note in the mail; that is just the sweetest thing ever
