Will It Hold Le Tatas Up?

February 5th, 2010 @ 2:57 pm by Mrs. Pencils

So, after my last post about our chosen bridesmaids’ dresses, many of you wanted to know how the dress works on REAL girls. So, I sent a plea to the bridesmaids that I have mailed the dress to (some requested that I just hold on to them until the day of) for some pics and their thoughts… and here’s what they gave me!

I hope it helps many of you who were thinking of using convertible dresses- the Victoria’s Secret ones are a great, less expensive option! The ones shown below on my girls are in “chocolate” and mine is “blackberry”.

All of the dresses come with instruction sheets for different ways of tying them; it’s also fun to just play around!

First up, Bridesmaid CH in her dress, and her opinion on the dress, in quotes, beneath the photos:

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img0009 IMG0009

“I wear a C cup. Some of the styles would absolutely require a bra!”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img000901 IMG000901

“The ones that criss-cross in the front provide a lot of support, but the wrap around (one I didn’t send, but the tube-top style) would require a strapless bra.”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img000902 IMG000902

“As PF touched base on, we may need to pin or fabric-tape with some of the styles.”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img000903 IMG000903

“Unless tied incredibly tight, we risk having the girls make an appearance mid “I do”… and I’d hate for us to steal the moment ;)

Here is Bridesmaid PF in a variety of styles and her opinion on the dress:

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 225 IMG_225

“So… someone will need to dress me on your wedding day… tying this sucker is not a skill I currently possess. However, it was a super fun way to NOT brief a case for class…”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 224 IMG_224

“Tatas might actually be good for this dress - I felt like I had a lot of extra fabric, especially on the one that crosses over in the front, and it kept popping open.”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 22401 IMG_22401

“Please enjoy the various shoe options, especially this one, where I have two different ones on.”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 22501 IMG_22501

“But I don’t think any kind of bra except a low-back one will work with this style. Cutlets all the way for me!”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 22502 IMG_22502

“I’ll be sure to not sweat too much so they don’t go flying across the dance floor ;)”

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 22503 IMG_22503

And last but not least, yours truly in some styles.

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 233 IMG_233

This style worked well for my little tatas.

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 23301 IMG_23301

This was hard to twist all by myself!

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 234 IMG_234

How Grecian!

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 23401 IMG_23401

I liked this one… why do I look pissed?

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 23402 IMG_23402

Ah yes, the bandeau top… as CH mentions, it’s probably best for less-endowed girls.

Will It Hold Le Tatas Up? : wedding bridesmaid dress Img 23403 IMG_23403

I couldn’t get the sleeves to work right!

So there you have it, hive! They seem like they’ll work, although help with tying will be required, as will some sort of low back/strapless bra or cutlets.

Thanks CH and PF for being awesome and sending me photos and your thoughts. :)

Any suggestions for my girls wearing these? How have your bridesmaids pulled through for you during this planning process?

your bridesmaids are great! i love the commentary. they’re such versatile dresses, i’m sure they’ll each find the perfect way to do it. and then they can change it halfway through the wedding!

Are you going to ask them to both choose the same style, or are they going to go with the one that suits them best?

This dress is so cute, and a great idea both for versatility at your wedding, and re-usability. Good job!

Thanks again to you AND your maids for sharing!
Good to hear it was relatively easy for for a single person to do by themselves!
I think my MOH is leaning towards the ruched version but I’m sure color in both styles are the same so I’m going to let them decide which ones!

I purchased these for my maids to wear in blackberry. I think that I am going to have the bottom cut so that they are straight across and a little shorter. Some of my girls are on the shorter side so I think that they would look better in the dress if it were above their knee.

I love seeing the dress in action! I remember seeing a demonstration I think on My Fair Wedding once and of course when the dress maker was doing it, she made it look so easy. Great review of the dress, thanks!

I totally have that dress… well, it’s an etsy version of it. Was considering it for my BMs, but it just didn’t look good on all of them. So we went in another direction, but I kept the sample I’d ordered for me ;-)

I cannot wear it without a bra, though, and most of the styles seem to show my bra unless I wear the little matching tube top thing underneath…

I have a dress just like that in green, that I wore to my FI’s brother’s wedding! I have to second (third?) the fabric tape/pin/bandeau suggestions, as that sucker can slip and slide once you get dancing, depending how you tie it. It’ll be easier with all your ‘maids wearing it ’cause they can help each other wrap up!

This is very good to know! I love VS dresses, and have wondered about this one in particular! Even with their bra top dresses I usually end up wearing a bra though, I don’t want my ‘Ds’ falling out!
