About Mrs. Nachos

I Am a Virgin

February 8th, 2010 @ 5:43 pm by Mrs. Nachos

Ahem, let me be more specific: I am a pedicure virgin.

I hate feet. Your feet, my feet, Mr. N’s feet, it doesn’t matter—I hate them. Except for Hazel’s feet; I call them her chocolate chip cookie paws.

I Am a Virgin : wedding beauty Paws 002 paws-002

Some people have a foot fetish, I think I have a slight foot phobia. I thank my lucky stars everyday that my beauty school didn’t make us do pedicures! And I don’t particularly like people touching my feet, either.

For big events, I usually just slap a coat of nail polish on my tootsies and go on my way. But I’ve made a decision. At 32 years old, for my wedding, I’m going to let someone deflower my feet. Yep, I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna go all the way.

If you get pedicures, tell me what you love about them so I can psych myself up for this momentous occasion!

I get pedis sometimes and sometimes I do them myself :)
When I get them done, I’ll admit…it tickles a bit for certain parts but if you want them to skip the lotion foot/leg massage part, they will I’m sure :)
They don’t hurt by any means and don’t take to long either (good news for you!)
Good luck! Very brave of you Miss Nachos :) )

Woohoo, go ahead and do it! I was shocked to discover that my luxuries-obsessed bridesmaid had never had a pedicure due to her fears about her feet being seen, so New Year’s before last I took her and a friend out for mani-pedis before our party. She was positively impressed, hopefully you will be too!

Pedicures are amazingly awesome.

Run, don’t walk and go get one ASAP! They feel amazing and are so relaxing (for me at least!)!

As gross as it sounds, my favorite part is when they take the razor blade and get all the dead skin off the bottom of my heels. I never wear shoes so it builds up every month. Then my feet are so soft and smooth =]

Haha, my best friend also has foot phobia! It was always fun to pretend to put my feet too close to her when we were watching TV or something and wait for her to scream. Sorry, I bet that gives you the wiggins too!

I do love getting pedicures, especially at places with nice, clean, spa-type places that start a soak and a massage chair. It’s actually relaxing once you get used to the fact that someone is touching your feet, I swear! Good luck!

chocolate chip cookie paws! so cute!

people usually close their eyes and relax, or read a magazine so you can kind of tune out about your feet. there is also a part where they massage your foot and lower leg–i love that part but maybe that grosses you out. in general, i’m a fan.

I’m a virgin with those too! I have always just done it myself. However for my wedding, I will probably get one too. Good Luck!

I was freaked out by pedicures at first, but now I absolutely love them. I was always worried that the manicurist doing my pedicure was going to be grossed out by my feet. I actually told her this and she cracked up and told me that if feet grossed her out she wouldn’t be in the pedicure business. After she told me my feet are actually some of the more normal feet that she’s seen and has regaled me with foot horror stories on a regular basis, my foot fears have been resolved.

My suggestion, tell them you’ve still got your pedi V-card and ask them to be gentle. If something is uncomfy, tell them you can’t handle it and ask them to skip that step. Read a magazine to distract yourself if you need to. There’s nothing like a really good pedicure where your tootsies end up perfectly painted.

Watch out! I’ve gotten one pedi in my life (FMIL surprised me with it on a vacation before I could tell her my absolute hatred of people touching my feet) and I was so uncomfortable and ticklish the entire time - never again!

I feel you on the foot phobia: I hate feet too. However, I love pedicures. You start by soaking your feet in warm soapy water (cleaner! less feet-y!). Bring magazines to read so you can ignore all the scary tools they use and all the gross stuff that comes off your feet. You will love how cute and smooth they look after the pedicurist works his or her magic on them.

Trust me, I hate feet, but I hate them slightly less after a nice pedicure!

I was scared of pedis for a long time too - but I love them now! One thing, don’t let them use the razor blade, they can do more harm than good and can start an infection (many states have banned them.) Tell them to scrub the dead skin off - no cutting! Also, don’t let them cut your cuticles, just push them back.

And now that I have probably scared you back into no-pedicure land, Mario Tricoci in the Watertower do great pedicures, and they have super-special, in-depth pedicures that you might want to try, since this is your first one.

One of the best parts about getting a pedicure is the foot and leg massage!

I like when they lotion you up and do the foot and leg massage. Those are better than sex to me, but I really like foot massages..

Oh, wow. I thought I was weird! I HATE feet too! I like mine, but other people? EWW! I hate when others touch my feet also. It freaks me out. I only let my sweetie touch my feet.

My sister has a serious foot phobia as well and I took her to get her first pedi a couple months ago. She was shaking the entire time but now she is addicted! Good luck!!

I’ve never had one either!! One time I had a massage and the person focused on my feet for a few minutes. I seriously almost kicked her because it tickled so much. I’m sure that’s not helping you at all…my bad. Let us know how it turns out. I don’t think I’ll get one for my wedding. It would probably stress me out and I’m much more comfortable just doing it myself.

I DEFINITELY have a problem with feet. If people’s feet or socks even come close to me, I freak out. In fact, part of the reason I got a tattoo on my foot was to make my feet slightly more attractive (though I grossed out that she had to touch my feel for an hour and a half). That being said, this summer, I had my first pedicure. It always used to gross me out that someone would have to touch my feet, but to be honest, it was probably the best feeling of my life, and I actually liked my feet for a little while after it! (cuz they felt and looked so good!)

Miss Nachos, I absolutely adore you!!! For so long I hought I was the only one. I hate feet. In fact the other day, I had to make FH put socks on because every time his feet touched me I grossed out. That said, I do get pedicures. My favorite part is actually the lotion they put on your legs if you get a spa package. The foot part still weirds me out, but the end result is always much prettier. Especially because in San Diego most nail places draw pretty flowers on your big toe.
