Mrs. Poodle's Picture
Mrs. Poodle, Santiago, Chile/San Bernardino, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Industrial & Web Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Firefighter & Mountain Patrol Engagement Date: February 25, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Mr. P's Grandparents’ Ranch About Me: I’m a Chilean girl who's crazy about nature and swimming. I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.
About Mrs. Poodle

So I already gave you all a small sneak peek of our invitations (the envelopes) and how we finally got to transform brochures into our booklet Invitations. I also shared how hard it was to let them go, because it was a TRUE labor of love, and took LOTS of hours of work. smile

And finally, the time has come! Let me introduce you to the Poodles’ invitations! ♥

I totally love the texture I drew for the invitations, so you’ll be seeing that on a lot of wedding related projects!

The budget breakdown for them is as follows:

  • 120 Brochures: free (I won a giveaway from UPrinting)
  • 200 Envelopes: $2.00 (I bought them in Chile)
  • 1 Pack of white cardboard: $3.00 (at Michaels using a discount coupon)
  • Return Address stamp: $10.00 (I ordered it without the clear block)
  • Staz-On Inkpad in Purple: $4.00 (at Michaels using a discount coupon)
  • Brown, Purple and white thread: $6.00 (at Michaels using a discount coupon)
  • Brown Kraft paper bags: $7.00 (at Costco, it’s a big box that I’ll be using for other wedding crafts, too. I made the belly bands with them)
  • Postage: $58.20 ($48.40 for 110 $0.44 U.S. stamps and $9.80 for 10 $0.98 international stamps)

TOTAL: $90.20 for 120 invitations, or $0.75 per invitation! Pretty cool, huh?

(Thank you cards are not included in the breakdown)

Did you include postage on the RSVPs? I love them, but am worried you might not get as many back if you didn’t put postage on them! Eek!

lovelovelove these Miss Poodle, great job!

I love how you’ve stuck to just two fonts and played them off against each other so successfully - I am having such a hard time choosing from the bazillion fonts I’ve fallen in love with, damn DaFont.com!! lol.

The timeline is too cute as well, just great!

They are, of course, fabulouse (would expect nothing less). I was just wondering how you printed them. Regular printer? Cases of ink cartridges? I can’t believe we still have months to wait for your recaps…
