“Snowpocalypse”

February 10th, 2010 @ 10:45 am by Mrs. Cheeseburger

Unless you live under a rock or, OK, anywhere not in the Northeast, you probably know about the enormous snow storm that hit us this weekend. While Burger and I were lucky in that we did not lose power, had nowhere to go this weekend, and live within walking distance of lots of bars, restaurants, hotels, stores and hospitals, a lot of other people were not so lucky. We were able to have fun with this weekend of snow, but for those without power and who are stranded and getting cabin fever (like my poor parents in the ’Burgh), we’re praying for you!

Take a look at what we woke up to Saturday morning:

Snowpocalypse : wedding thank you Img 884 Not our car, but I feel terrible for whoever owns it!

We took advantage of our snowed-in weekend by getting a lot done, but also by having fun adventuring out in the storm!

Take a look at some pictures from our walk:

In addition to our little adventure out, I also got a chance to write the thank you notes for our amazing shower gifts.

And finally, for the actual wedding-related part of this post, I got started assembling our programs!

Was anyone else snowed-in this weekend? Did you get anything wedding-related done?

For the first time ever, I’m “working from home” today! I’m going to finish up the OOT bags during my “lunch”.

SNOmg! =) Yup snowed in VA and this is the only time that I wish I could do more wedding stuff! At least our printer made it before the snow so I could do some test runs. If only I had ordered all my paper supplies I’d be one happy bee!

We’re snowed in today, and I plan on getting started on our menus. I can normally work from home if I really need to, but having the office closed is nice!
And yes - NY’ers are being a little wimpy. I went to school in Syracuse and a foot of snow was a normal winter day. Still, city-folk tend to walk a lot more than they do upstate, which is hard to do in a foot of snow!

We were snowed in with some friends up at their lake house. So all we accomplished was relaxing (and some knitting and sewing). It was a great weekend!

I think this is the first time Maine hasn’t been included in a hug snowstorm in the northeast. I kind of like it! Sucks for you guys though!

So much dang snow!! I can’t even imagine it.

Oh wait, I can. I used to live in Boston. :p

You look so freaking adorable in those pink shades, sister. Gave me big smiles.

Snow sucks - Now all of you eastern bees know how us Midwestern ones have felt like all winter. It’s been a bad, bad year snow-wise. My husband LOVES winter, but even he made the comment last night that he’s sick of snow.

I’m in NYC and got an e-mail this morning at 6:00am that our office would be open. So I made it into work, only to have them announce that they’re closing the office at 1:00. What a waste! But I’m excited to go home and have a half snow day and hopefully get some wedding stuff done!

We got your snow in small doses. Never seizes to amaze me how our snow storm grows from dishing out 2-3″, to dumping 20+” Insane!

We are in Bowie, MD and have been snowed in since Saturday. I did make my FI walk with me across the street to Michael’s to stock up on supplies for a week of wedding DIY. I couldn’t beleive that Micheal’s was open and I was not the only bride in there shopping for wedding stuff.

Ahhh Baltimore. The Mr was born and raised there, so seeing these bring back some awesome memories. It’s sick how much snow has been dumped on you east coasters! But I’m sorta jealous? :P
