Once in a while, Ribs will go through our Mint.com account to clean it up and make sure everything is in the right category. Sometimes it tells us we spent $15 on rent and $600 on restaurants, so things need to get reorganized!
Today he was doing just that and asking about uncategorized charges. He was just listing things off when he asked about a Paypal charge for $18. This was my response:
“I ordered twine.”
Indeed, I had ordered twine.
$15 twine. He immediately started laughing at me and then quickly labeled it as “wedding”. I felt pretty embarrassed, since it was twine, but it’s actually exciting stuff!
I’m planning on using it to tie together our invitations, but it’ll probably make an appearance on the programs and perhaps in my other DIY projects. I ordered it here.
Have any of your wedding purchases embarrassed you?
I haven’t gotten embarrassed yet. I take that back. I did buy the mac-daddy of Cricuts. That was odd trying ot explain that one.
Ha! I bought $18 baker’s twine the other day. I actually am using it on Valentines, but I was so excited to get it!
i didn’t feel embarrassed, although i probably should have.
“Indeed, I had ordered twine.”
The deadpan delivery cracked me up!!
Of course, I’m the gal who needs to explain the 20 teapots…

it’s ok miss ribbons, i ordered the same twine in yellow! i love it!!
I haven’t gotten embarrased about anything so far, but sometimes he gives me this look that says “you’re going insane”!
I have not bought anything embarrassing yet, but I do want some high waist spanx and I think I will feel the need to explain why I want maximum tummy control.
That’s the twine I want to order for our invites too! Don’t feel embarrassed

absolutely yes. Mr. HW gets confused at the number of swatches and samples that come in the mail.
I just discovered Divine Twine the other day and can’t wait to order some in “apple”. I shared the news of my great find and he gave me a strange look and asked why I needed twine. This is why I have weddingbee
Just HAD to comment. I recently decided that some rustic-looking twine would give just the right amount of finishing to my non-pocketfold, non-belly band invites that are almost done. Thus began the search for twine. I must have gone to 7 stores! I even purchased Hemp twine from a craft store, only to get it home to realize that it smelled like manure! Can you imagine if Mr. and Mrs. Smith received their invite only to find that it smelled like poop?? Thus the 7 stores. But I ended up with the perfect one, and once I have glamour shots of the invites, I’ll post
