Mrs. Argyle, St. Louis Age and Occupation: 24, Project Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Pilot Engagement Date: February 15, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: Jewel Box in Forest Park and Windows on Washington About Me: I'm a true Midwestern girl (born and raised), lover of red wine, reality TV and the entire J.Crew catalog. I love to dance regardless of who is watching, and enjoy a good laugh with my girls. I have a soft spot in my heart for planet Earth, my two dogs and my fiance. Fall is my favorite season (which is why we are marrying in September), but I love a warm summer day and the Colorado mountains in the winter. We are planning a modern soiree downtown, with lots of bold colors, and fun, eco-friendly elements.

I Want Candy

February 11th, 2010 @ 5:48 pm by Mrs. Argyle

Back in early Summer, I sort of took a hiatus from planning. Many local vendors were not booking over a year out, so we had some down time. It gave me PLENTY of time to catch up on wedding blogs, and at least brainstorm.

I had been snooping around on Style Me Pretty and came across this fantabulous candy buffet set-up. I have tossed around the idea of having a candy buffet at the wedding with Mr. Argyle a few times and we both really like the idea of it as a wedding favor. We just have yet to really find a set up that we like. On top of that, we both really LOVE the idea of a photo booth. So, we keep going back and forth on which we want.

Back to the candy buffet. I found this:

How fantastic is that set up? The colors are great and it’s so fun and refreshing! We’d opt for circular stands, instead of the square stands seen here, but Amy Atlas really nailed this one (just like she does all of her other candy buffets). She just makes the candy look so appetizing (as if candy isn’t already).

Have any of you thought about doing a candy buffet? What helped you to make your decision?

Oh I love Amy Atlas. I subscribe to her blog. That first picture is too cute. Very cool! We aren’t having a candy bar but we are having a dessert bar instead of just cake. We are having pies, mini cheesecakes, cookies and who knows what else.

All this candy is making me hungry! I think the candy bar is a great idea as well as Curlysue’s cake buffet!

I actually might consider a candy buffet now that i’ve been inspired by these pics!

I’m still debating it. I love the idea, but hate how much 50lbs of candy costs :)

@Curlysue: Mmmm! A dessert bar is a great idea!

@Miss Ribbons: I feel your pain, I was loathing having to lug that candy around.

Amy Atlas is SO great. These things are actually pretty easy to put together if you have an eye for it; just keep a look out for estate sales, you can get really great vintage looking cake plates and glassware for displays. You can also get holiday candy that may match your colors on sale right after the holiday, you just need to freeze it to keep it until your wedding!
