About Mrs. Pencils

I.Love.Underthings.

February 12th, 2010 @ 12:35 pm by Mrs. Pencils

Have I mentioned this? We had an icebreaker at my most recent all-staff meeting (my organization lurves icebreakers) where everyone had to give one strange fact about themselves and we all tried to guess which fact matched which person. I went with my old standby: I own over 300 pairs of underwear.

I digress.

One of my favorite things to consider are underthings. Underthings that will be under my dress. Oh yes.

I am of the belief that what you wear under your clothes should be for your own enjoyment and to make you feel beautiful/comfortable/sexy/pretty/wild/sweet or whatever word and feeling you’re going for each day.

On my wedding day, I want my underthings to make me feel gorgeous and simple. My dress will be lace, the whole day will be pretty intense, and I want to just feel gorgeous and simple. So, the hunt begins for my wedding day underthings.

These could do the trick, perhaps:

I.Love.Underthings. : wedding undergarments Cream cream

I.Love.Underthings. : wedding undergarments Cutout cutout

source

I.Love.Underthings. : wedding undergarments Purple purple

source

I.Love.Underthings. : wedding undergarments Ruffle ruffle

source

Maybe I could play up the lace?

I.Love.Underthings. : wedding undergarments Macys macys

source

And I know I haven’t given much love to the girls, but I haven’t decided what (if anything) I’m wearing up top. It will probably be something just like this:

I.Love.Underthings. : wedding undergarments Bra bra

source

What are you doing for underthings under your dress?

Love the second pair! I’m also an obsessed with underthings! I think I’ll be wearing a corset get up, my dress is form fitting and the girls need the extra support.

I’m the same way with underthings!! I own more pairs than there are days in the year. So I’ve been contemplating my wedding day underthings quite heavily…. with no resolution still!

Make sure to try on any underthings with your dress. I managed to wear bright green panties to two of my fittings, and they definitely showed through!

The Panache Hestia. It’s the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen and it gives tons of support:

I bought a corset from Frederick’s of Hollywood because I wanted to make sure I held everything in, haha. You can see it here: http://mytriptothealtar.blogspot.com/2009/08/oooh-la-la.html - although I obviously bought the white one.

For undies, I bought panties from http://www.customizedgirl.com/ and had them put “Megan & Seth” with our wedding date. I got those in blue so I’d be wearing some blue. :)

Holy underwear!
I’ll be wearing the Victoria Secret strapless/convertible that has the amazing no-slip lining instead of rubbery edges. I was hoping for colored panties but TexicanMexican just made me rethink that…

I bought a lacy pair (my something blue) and used rhinestones to spell out my new last name on the back of them.

I have absolutely no idea how my collection of underwear began, but it’s good to know there are others avid collectors out there.

I haven’t thought about this yet - but plan to wear something sweet and comfortable.

I’m glad I am not the only one putting some thought into this. I thought about red to match my shoes, but didn’t think about them showing thru. Now I really need to think about it.

I’ve been looking for uber-lacy boyshorts in a light color and haven’t had much luck. I found a pair on Nordstrom today for $60 wtf?

@Miss Pug: I just did the same thing!

I liked the first pair a lot though! I am shooting for simplicity and comfort, it’ll be a long day!

I had blue lace panties cross between a boy short and hip huggers. They were from Troussau a lingerie store in Vienna, VA outside of DC. They were only ten bucks and weresexy and comfy.

I have an underwear addiction, too! I don’t have nearly as many as you but I do have at least 60. I got a cute pair of blue and white ruffled boyshorts from Frederick’s for the wedding…. I loved them!
