Linens Can Be Boring

February 15th, 2010 @ 9:13 am by Mrs. Ribbons

For about a month my mom has been hounding me on a near-daily basis about linens. What colors, what fabric, how can we make that room pop more, how can we make it less ugly, blah blah, linens this, linens that. I told her over and over, let’s just do white because we have pink crap everywhere (okay, beautiful pink flowers, geez) and I don’t want it to look like a giant threw up all of his Pepto.

Naturally, I changed my mind after seeing these.

First, let’s note the appearance of my sash. Hello. Second, how do you do, raspberry linens! I am intrigued by your hue and wish to subscribe to your e-newsletter.

Are you getting on the linen bandwagon?

…what is it about moms and linens? My mom has been bugging me relentlessly about them too! Love the pink ones- so cute!

Ooh gorgeous! My FI would not stand for pink linens as well as pink flowers, so we compromised by having our chair cushions in pink. I get a pop of color, and he gets dark silver linens.

Ha I second that - my Mom was hassling me about linens just this weekend! We’ve found that renting linens is much more expensive than anticipated….so I’m tempted to just buy some and re-sell afterwards. Not sure if its worth the hassle, but I’m considering it.

I bought my fabric on Saturday! 13.5 yards of eggplant satin will become 15 table runners. All for the bargain basement price of $76 (including tax, thread and a trial yard to practice with). Yay Jo-Ann coupons! And so much cheaper than going with the ones provided by my venue . . .
Now Mom and I just need to start cutting and sewing.

I’m totally on the linen bandwagon! I ordered 3 samples to take to my venue to decide between. And those raspberry linens are delish!

I’m picking out my linens this Wednesday! Can’t wait… I’m eyeing something in neutral taupe/goldish shade to go with our blush pink/ivory centerpieces. Maybe with pink napkins.

I wasn’t originally going to do a colored linen, but I think we are going to do a khaki colored shantung raw silk. There is already a lot of color in the room, that I think the khaki color will add to the warmth. Although, I don’t dislike the white standard linen since we have so much color going on.

Love those pink linens too, especially with how they styled the table!

Definitely doing black tableclothes with light pink napkins and pink table runners…I definitely want the room to pop!

I.AM.A.LINEN.W._ORE… Great linens make an otherwise so-so venue stunning and a great venue spectacular. It also changes the repeatedly used venue into something that is spectacularly YOURS… there are no cookie cutter weddings with the right linen choices :D

Much better than the ballet pink your mom wanted. That pink/raspberry color is divine.

Unfortunately, we can’t afford it for our large number of tables, but I agree with you. Those images are purdee!

Love those! (Also, you are now my favorite for using a really obscure Simpsons quote.)
