About Mrs. Paisley

Peach and Aqua

February 16th, 2010 @ 11:29 am by Mrs. Paisley

Here is an inspiration board I created featuring our wedding colors, peach and aqua. The peach along with the homey and handmade details bring warmth to the pale aqua palette. My pops and I have decided to undertake an insane amount of DIY, and are already hard at work making many elements you’ll see at the wedding by hand, including 16 long rustic farm tables, 8 walnut burl benches (from the orchard across the street from the house where I grew up), an arbor made out of driftwood that came ashore at my grandma’s house, a dance floor, table numbers and wedding signage. My dad is the best!!!

Is your dad involved in your wedding planning?

My dad is totally involved with whatever I want. He’s so cute when it comes to planning different projects and putting them together. I think he enjoys it more than he lets on! I cannot wait to see how your tables come out!

My dad has been hard at work sanding and cutting wine corks to use for escort cards! I don’t have any more DIY projects for him yet but I might soon…

my dad is making our favors- tons and tons of home made chex mix! it sounds silly, but it is literally my favorite food EVER and he only makes it at Christmas. We are just going to put a little box at everyones place for them to snack on during cocktail hour! I love that my dad is involved, and it is so cool that your is, too!

That’s really cool that your dad is so involved! My dad is helping with the funding, not so much with the DIY lol.

My dad has laughed at most of my DIY ideas. He then just offers to pay for whatever it is I’m trying to DIY.
Dad retired last year, so I bring him along for most of my meetings. I like to have his opinion (and he likes to feel needed). My mom was out of town the day FI and I met with our photographer. I made Daddy come with us. After that, I made him go to B,B&B to register with us. He had a blast, but Mom was really jealous.
