Mrs. Mouse's Picture
Mrs. Mouse, Austin Age and Occupation: 25, Weddingbee Editor/Attorney Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Civil Engineer Engagement Date: December 19, 2007 Wedding Date: September 2009 Venue: Barr Mansion About Me: I just graduated from law school and will be taking the bar, getting married, going on a honeymoon with my guy, and then trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, but I'm no country girl! I'm obsessed with British accents, fantasy (including Harry Potter, of course), and classic rock. My fiance and I consider ourselves both music and beer snobs--but every once in awhile we love to hear a crappy band and drink a cheap brew or two. We're planning an eco-friendly, casual, English garden affair for the end of summer, and we can't wait for it to get here!
About Mrs. Mouse

So there we were, minding our own business at our sweetheart table: eating our wedding dinner, chatting with guests as they stopped by our table, and letting our ears fill with the sweet sounds of our perfect playlist.

Our Rainy-Day Wedding: Dinner Gets Rickrolled : wedding pictures pro pics recap 3791 379

You can see our sweetheart table in the middle here, though we’re not sitting in it.

I was sitting on the side facing the bar and our iPod set-up, and the Dude was facing the opposite wall. I noticed out of the corner of my eye my SIL, J-Dawg fiddling with the stereo, but honestly it didn’t really register with me what she was doing. Obviously, I was a bit preoccupied with enjoying my delicious veggie lasagna and chatting with my brand new husband.

All of a sudden, we hear this song blasting from the speakers, about three times as loud as our ambient music had been only seconds earlier.

The next thing we know, our coordinator, Rick, is tearing across the room towards the iPod, trying to “fix” the problem. It took the Dude and me several seconds to realize what was happening—our wedding was being Rickrolled!

Several of our guests (especially the younger ones) figured out that it was a Rickroll and explained it to a lot of the others. Then, as we made our way from table to table—thanking everyone for coming and trying to talk to each person who had made it out—we were able to explain it to those who were still confused and laugh about it some more.

Looking back, this moment is one of my favorite of the whole day. It was totally unexpected, and it made us laugh our heads off (especially at the look on our coordinator’s face—sheer terror!).

And because I don’t believe in the concept of a wedding recap post without pictures, I’ll leave you guys with some photos of our scrumptious buffet set-up.

@Miss Guinea Pig: Yeah, I know! I didn’t even put two and two together until I wrote this post!

@Toffee: Haha, thanks! Our venue made these–I had no idea they were putting these out, or I probably would have tried to come up with something cuter!!

If I had that greek veggie lasagna, I’d never “Wanna Give You Up” (lil’ rickroll humor there.)

Your food spread made up for any amount of rickrolling!
