Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and Promotions Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior Designer Engagement Date: March 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA About Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.
About Mrs. Cola

Lots of people collect something, are obsessed with something, or have something that is their “thing”.

For me, it’s shoes.

I have a shoe problem. It’s undeniable. I obsess over, online stalk and collect shoes. It’s even mentioned in my blog profile!

I’ve always enjoyed shoes, but my like turned into love after graduating from college and entering the world of pumps and peep toes to wear to work. There are so many more possibilities when you go from wearing flats to walk around campus to 3+ inch heels because you sit at a desk all day! Steadily, my collection has grown, and I now have quite a store of cute shoes (all purchased on sale and for low prices too, I’m proud to say! I love to shop around for sales, since about the most expensive range I’ll pay is Steve Madden or Nine West prices, but prefer under $30.).

So, now that I’ve set the stage for my obsession, let’s take a look, shall we?

Here are a few of my favorite shoes from my closet. In my wedding planning, shoes have always been way more important to me than the dress; plain wedding pumps weren’t going to cut it. I love high stilettos, unique prints, and fun details just too much!

Do you believe me yet that shoes are a MAJOR part of my life? So it’s no surprise then that I started searching for my wedding shoes about 30 seconds after getting back from the vacation that we got engaged on.

But before I go into the long story about the wedding day shoes themselves, let’s look at the other shoes I’ve purchased for the wedding events:

So, now that my shoe obsession has been properly spelled out for you all, you will be better able to understand my insane, stalker-ish wedding shoe hunt, which I will save for tomorrow’s post.

What wedding detail do you/did you obsess about the most?

(unless otherwise noted, all photos in this post were taken by yours truly)

Okay, I am Single — for the time being (still heart WB), and shoes is the obsession for me. It’s shoes. Shoes. And it will be shoes.

truly a girl after my own heart. is it strange when i was having dress shopping pangs that i said “i should just find a great shoe first, THEN i can find a dress”. i am known to match a dress to the shoes, not the other way around.

Nice collection of shoes! me I would not call it n obsession. but i do have a thing for sandals ♥ ‘em, which is why I don’t exactly love rainy cold days. Being a California girl there’s more sun than anything so I can’t really complain about the weather.

I love the idea of shoes, but hate wearing them! I love to gawk at pretty shoes, but ugh. Give me Chuck Taylors or Havaiianas anyday.

Ohhhhh, I looove all your shoes. As a nurse who spends her days in either sneakers or crocs, I’m totally jealous. My obsession at one time was bathing suits. You have some truly beautiful shoes, my friend.

I also had at one time an obsession with Yankee Candles…..had to have every scent. I still have quite a candle collection.

Love the shoes. I am right there with you. I obsess over shoes. I bought my wedding shoes before picking a date, looking at venues, or even thinking about my dress. That was the most important part for me! - well after marrying FI ;-)

Photography was mine. I obsessed about the shoes for like two days, because then I found the pair I purchased right away!

I think we must be related…I bought my shoes for the wedding months before I even tried on dresses. All my friends laughed at me when I told them I didn’t yet have a dress but had the shoes!
Oh, and the red Steve Madden’s you posted a pic of…I’m wearing the same ones right now (except they are the cheetah print with the red bow type thingy)!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one obsessed with shoes! :) You guys rock!

@pinkpamulan: My ‘welcome party’ shoes were purchased from Lulus.com, but I don’t see them on the site anymore. They’re called the “Not Rated Raja Purple Print Fabric Peep Toe Platform Heel” and I paid $49 for them. But if you Google Not Rated Raja, there are a lot of results on other websites.

Glad to help!

I’m with ya on shoes!!! Just found a pair that I LOVE and I’m debating if it’s worth spending a small fortune on - the Christian Louboutin Margi Diams - I saw them on the web and it was like angels started singing… SO GORGEOUS.

Don’t your feet hurt in some of these. I must be the only girl doesn’t get shoes. I’m lucky if I find something comfortable and appropriate. The curse of wide feet.
