My Newfound Love

February 18th, 2010 @ 6:20 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

OK, so I’m not cheating on Mr. Fro Yo or anything, but I do have a new love. See, I recently had a birthday (holy crap I’m 29) and my sweet mom got me the best present ever. I knew that I wanted this present but I had no idea that I was going to look forward to using it everyday, nor did I think it would lead to dramatic changes for me, but it has done all that and more and I’ve only had it for a week and a half! So what is this magic present? My new Clarisonic Mia!

My Newfound Love : wedding beauty Mia mia

OK, I have a huge confession.

See, I wanted the Mia for some time now, and we had a Clarisonic toothbrush sitting there with an unused head and I wondered why I wouldn’t just use that on my face instead of spending $150 on a new product. Well, about 1 second in I was in pain and realized then why I couldn’t just use the Clarisonic toothbrush as my Mia. What? Don’t pretend like you all wouldn’t try it too! :)

However, since I got the real deal I’ve used it twice a day with the Clarisonic facial soap that came with it and my skin feels so soft. I have no more dry patches even though we are in the middle of winter, and I have not had one single breakout. Oh, and I’m not shy about using this one the rest of my body, either. My arms can be bumpy and dry, but they appreciate a good scrub from my Mia too and they are transforming, as well. I am excited to keep using this and seeing how my skin will continue to improve.

Anyone else loving the Clarisonic products?

Lucky you !!! I’ve been tempted to splurge on the clarisonic. I’m 75% at yes I look @ it as an investment :) the thing is that I really want 2 things Cricut n Clarisonic. So yeah thats my dilemma. I’m leaning more towards the clairsonic n well see what I ultimately decide for.

I LOOOOOOOVE my Clarisonic! I splurged on it specifically for the wedding, because I wanted to make sure my skin was picture perfect. I use regular Cetaphil with it, and it’s been fantastic. My skin has (so far) made it through the winter months without the gross dry patches I usually get.

lol to emarilu on the decision between cricut and clarisonic! That’s a tough one!

I would love one…but it’s no where near our budget right now!

I got mine in October and LOVE it. The Clairsonic samples are all great but expensive to replenish. I started using Cetaphil with it and it’s just as awesome.

I had my makeup trial this past weekend and it was so, so easy to remove using the Clairsonic.

It’s made a huge difference with my skin and I’m not one that jumps on bandwagons easily. I thought about this for a year and saw some friends have similar results before trying it myself. I definitely recommend it.

My hubby got me one as an early Christmas gift. It was great at first and my skin was so soft, but then I started breaking out so I put it away for a while until my skin cleared up. I started using it again and a few weeks later my skin starting breaking out again and I had an eczema flare up). I haven’t used it since.

I used my regular cleansers with it (alternate between Bliss Steep Clean Cleansing Milk and Philosophy’s Purity 1-step cleanser)…but maybe I’ll try using Cetaphil.

I feel so bad that it’s just sitting there unused…

hell yeahs!! I got one too, the original one though I think the Mia is a smaller size. My sister gave it to me! It is AMAZING!! My skin feels so incredibly soft. I think there is something new too called oval or something specifically for wrinkles, and I want that soon. I’m right behind you turning the 28 this year

Oh thank you thank you thank you for sharing your new found beauty tool with us! My friend has a Clarisonic (not sure if its a Mia) but she’s not very descriptive, so when she says “yeah it works” that to me sounds like “its whatever”. I’ve been debating whether or not to purchase it but I think you just helped me seal the deal! Now I just have to wait for the Sephora Friends & Family coupon hehe.

Nice!! I am still trying to figure out if I want to pull the trigger on this, but more positive reviews help!

I’ve been wanting to buy this forever! I highly recommend waiting until Sephora has their 20% off discount codes and buying it from them. Does anyone know if the only difference between the Mia and the original Clarisonic Sonic Cleanser is the size?

@HereComesTheSun: Me too!! I had my makeup trial and thought that stuff would never come off, but it came right off!!
@sandy: Oh no! I hope the cetaphil works for you!
@Miss Ribbons: I know, but it’s for a good product!!
@xLailax: It’s totally worth it!
@Ms. Sapphire: Yes, it’s just the size, the Mia is smaller. It’s plenty big to me though.

I’ve been looking at the Clarisonic as well. I have super problematic skin in the winter - I have all these white heads. Well, I think they’re white heads… my skin gets very bumpy, especially along my jaw line. I use Philosophy’s microdermabrasion product, which seems to be okay, but it doesn’t get rid of all of them. Do you think the Clarisonic would be a good choice to help clear this up?

@Carol: I don’t know, but you should go to Sephora if there is one near you and ask them about it. I’m sure they might be able to recommend something.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this. I’ve been thinking about buying this for months…my skin could use a little help for the wedding!

I have one…but don’t think it was at all worth it.

For the first week or so it made my skin noticably softer and have a better apperance. After that though, it’s been causing me to break out in the most horrible, painful, ugly acne ever. I’ve kept using it, knowing that sometimes things like this can cause you to break out for awhile (and it is still making my skin soft!) but ultimately you adjust and it works it’s magic…but it’s been 4-5 months now…I think it may be time to give up.

You crack me up for trying your toothbrush, I hadn’t thought about that until you mentioned it, but I’m tempted to still try it now, lol. I so want one of these, maybe I can score one for my birthday, too! :)
