Mrs. Gloss's Picture
Mrs. Gloss, Boston/Maine Age and Occupation: 24, Designer/soon-to-be Architect Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Systems Engineer Engagement Date: May 23, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: SS Katahdin/Lakeside Tent About Me: I don't like nickels or the skin that forms on pudding when it's in the fridge for too long. I couldn't live without Pantone markers, fountain soda (3/4 diet, ¼ regular Coke), run-on sentences, or ridiculously oversized sunglasses. I will try to DIY almost anything and am just OCD enough to make most of it work. I am truly excited about having all my family and friends together, becoming Mrs. Gloss, and having amazing photos to prove it!
About Mrs. Gloss

Our families and bridal party gathered at the bow of the boat immediately after the ceremony to do a champagne toast and start the family portraits. There was lots of hugging going on at this point. I gave a few to the other important men in my life:

My grandfather

And my daddy

If you remember, I was very concerned about why my glass had no champagne.

Our DOCs (Pink Orchid Weddings) were on top of things, (I was just too excited) - they were passing out glasses and handed me a bottle of champagne. I tried to hand it off to Mr. Gloss to open, but he didn’t know how to open a bottle of champagne (don’t worry, we’ve practiced a lot since). So, anyways - I took matters into my own hands.

Here Mr. Gloss - hold my flowers -

Mr. Gloss was not-so-silently praying I didn’t poke anyone’s eyes out.

But I’m a total pro -

Magically everyone else had full glasses of champagne at this point (and by magically I mean our fabulous DOCs gave them to them).

Some of my facial expressions in these photos are pretty priceless. Enter ’Surprised Champagne Toast’ :

The rest of our guests were huddled around the bar downstairs *I’ll let you in on a secret about this later* while we were on the front deck gathered for family photos. I know these aren’t always the most exciting photos, so I’ll do a quick snapshot.

Such beautiful photos of you on the deck! And your veil, although I’m sure it was a pain, looks absolutely divine!

What great pictures, and I ADORE your whooshy-veil. That is the #1 reason I’m doing a long veil. If it’s not windy enough on our wedding day, by God if I’m not going to have somebody pull out a fan. :p

You have to have a toast and you were so right on having to have the champagne! I’m right with ya on that one!

Btw, you look so gorgeous! I love your dress! The pics from your wedding are wonderful. I told T, (the FI) about your wedding and he loved the idea (he is into sailboats and boats in general).

Thanks Everyone!

RE: THE VEIL - it was out of control. In all the family pics who ever stood beside me had to hold it down overwise it would whip them across the face :)
