Pity Party Table for One

February 23rd, 2010 @ 5:04 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Do you ever just want to cry because a bunch of little things are going wrong? Like, if any of these events occurred individually, you would just let them roll of your back and it would be no big thing. However, when they all occur on the same day you get to the point that you’re ready to lose your noodle? Yeah, that’s me today. And I apologize in advance because I’m really not one for complaining on the interwebs, but damn y’all, I’m sad.

Maybe it’s because the wedding is about 50 days away and I just want everything to be perfect, and of course that’s unreasonable and unrealistic. So what’s my drama all about? Stupid stuff, really.

Up first, I searched and searched for a hair flower and I finally decided on one. Well, it got here today and I hate it. The seller said it was organza, but unfortunately there is nothing organza about it. I feel like I could have done a better job on my own, but instead I spent $30 on something I hate.

Then, the guest list is expanding.

It’s not really anyone’s fault, it’s just the way it goes but I’m stressed about it. I had to make some cuts and then I heard today that people were upset, so now I just wanted to say “eff it, invite them.” I’d rather not cause fights over just a couple people who want to come to our wedding.

I also have a shower coming up this weekend that I’m super excited about (this is a good thing). I know that my bridesmaids have worked really hard to make it nice, and it will be. I can’t wait to share pictures of the event with you guys. But then there is drama surrounding that, and more of it came to my attention today. I just hate drama. Thankfully I know I have some great girls that will make it a kick-ass event. So this is more of a good thing peppered with a little drama.

Also, I’m taking bridal portraits this weekend and it’s supposed to rain. And tomorrow it’s supposed to snow. In Texas. So, the rustic photo shoot that I envisioned will likely be more slushy and rainy than rustic elegance.

Oh, and my dogs ate my entire collection of True Blood books today. Thanks, girls!

But, to make myself feel better I bought something, and I wanted to sit with a glass of wine, but I had no wine. Travesty. So what did I buy? Some lovely thank you cards from Le Papier Studio.

I can’t wait to get them in the mail!!

OK, I think the pity party is officially over. Anyone else ever feel this way?

Don’t worry lady - it’ll all work out. And, even if it snows in TX, it’ll make for a memorable (and pretty) bridal session.

bt dubs, those thank you cards are adorable.

i’m really sorry about all that stuff happening at the same time–it’s never fun dealing with one too many downers at the same time. don’t worry, you’ll find/make a flower that you love, the shower will be fantastic and your friends will put away any drama for the sake of you, inviting those few extra folks will be worth it (more gifts!), and your bridal portraits, whether sunny rustic or misty rain, will be beautiful.

BUT. no wine? i can’t help you there.

As uber-cheesy as it sounds, nothing ever, ever goes entirely your way - but you’re going to look back on this whole experience & not think about the mini-disasters. :)

Oh, *hugs*! I have the entire Sookie collection and I’ve finished them all! Want me to send them your way?

Rock those galoshes and get some bridal pics in the snow! What a story that’ll be!

And your thank you cards are awesome!

I feel your pain. Hang in there. We all have these days so rest assured you’re not alone. *sigh* This may make you feel better…

My FI and I did our engagement pics in the rain and it was actually really fun! Umbrellas, boots, and just random shots in the rain.

I just bought a hair flower from Etsy’s Silverpencils (aka Mrs Espresso) - http://www.etsy.com/shop/Silverpencils. She has great stuff at really reasonable prices!

Hang in there!

awww!!! It’ll be ok! It was ironic that you posted this today. I feel the EXACT same way today and it’s been pouring here all day to make things worse! I’ve been sitting in class since 8am (and have to be here til 7pm!) and finally decided to come on here to take my mind off a few things for awhile. I had to chuckle when this was the first post that came up. We must all be on the same page today :-/ I say, go work out and get some endorphines and then curl up with a beer (or wine!) and watch a girly movie. Feel better!

I definitely wish bad news could be spread out over a few days/weeks instead of just hitting you in the face all in one day! When it rains, it pours :( Keep your eye on the prize and get yourself some gelato and a hug from your FI! :)

Aww, I’m sorry! You want to borrow the hair flower I wore for my wedding? It’s an ivory flower from Twigs & Honey. Just let me know!

I know the feeling! When it rains it pours…

Yikes about the hair flower. Would you mind telling where you got it from? I am in the midst of trying to pick one off of etsy and am worried I will end up with something dreadful.

Omgawsh. That was my exact week last week! But instead of snow falling in Texas, there are leaves falling in Arizona…to the point where there are NO leaves on the trees! My Fresh-Farm-Feel has gone right out the window, and now I’m trying to coax myself into loving the idea of pictures in a tree grove, with no leaves! Ugh! Things kept going wrong for three days straight…and I finally put myself to bed! Go grab some Goldenspoon, cuddle up, and sleep it off! Good luck!

Totally understand…

When down in the dumps - shopping & wine are both good - but so is checking out the “pissedoffbride” blog!

http://pissedoffbride.wordpress.com/

It usually either makes me laugh, cry, or snort my wine. ;)
