*SHRUG*

February 23rd, 2010 @ 9:39 am by Mrs. Lace

I am naturally a sweaty girl. I know, it’s gross. I hate it too, but it’s in my genes. I can’t really help it. So, when choosing a venue, we decided to go indoors with air con. We’re getting married in June, so a strapless dress was the way to go. There’d be no reason to layer on anything else. Until, I came across these shrugs.

I am in LOVE with these adorable ivory, lacey, delicate, flowery shrugs! It makes me want to get married when it’s a bit cooler just so I can have one. Check these beauties out!

Sigh. Cute. Chic. So adorable. Is there something you love, but can’t have for your wedding?

I adore those shrugs, but it wouldn’t have worked with my dress. I compensate by wearing awesome shrugs in real life ;)

ugh, I have the same problem as you. Sweaterific! I think they’re called bolero’s (sp?). My mom will be wearing a satin bolero to match her dress. My seamstress is making it from scratch for her and I thought of having a little lace one made for me too. BUT-when I think about it, I’d probably wear it for like an hour, we’re also having a June wedding, then it would have pit stains, and no one likes pit stains. So, I guess it’s not in the cards for me, but they are soooo cute!

I wanted a small wedding and can’t have one… does that count? Ha!

oooh! I love that last shrug- so awesome! I would love to have sky high heels, but that probably won’t jive with my venue! And a red jacket for “getting in the cab and heading off to the after party” pics. That one might happen. :)

I’m totally with you on being a sweaty person…it’s the worst! Nothing worse than having to manipulate your wardrobe because of it!

I swooned over shrugs too! But, not so practical for a Jamaican party!

Our day has the potential to be freezing (you never know in New England) but I kinda don’t mind because I want to wear a shrug or cardigan so badly!

I love those shrugs…but since my wedding is in June they’re not really practical, either. Le sigh.

My dress has little cap sleeves that have that lacy shrug look… and my wedding is in June! :)

I’m getting married in June, I plan on having a shug for the ceremony then taking it off for the reception. I’m getting married inside so it won’t be aweful.

I have been stalking on the site for a few weeks - my girlfriend sent me a link and I’m hooked! The shrugs are adorable! I am a former sweaty girl and totally feel your pain! Have you ever considered using something like Drysol? I used it in high school and still hardly sweat (10+ years)!

So cute. I’m an ex-swimmer, and I still maintain a frame of “swimmers shoulders” I’m not sure if it would hide or detract from them!

The big thing that I wanted and didn’t get was a sleek and modern venue close to the church we are getting married at, but we really couldn’t afford it - so we went with a place that is “nice” and a bit further away.

I love them too… but couldn’t find one that didn’t compete with my dress. Sigh.

I discovered the bolero/shrug trend way too late in the planning process…otherwise, I too would have added one to my “gotta have” list.

I’m totally with you on the too-sweaty thing! I, too, am a sweat machine. AND I, too, LURVE the lace shrugs…. I have been trying this prescription strength anti-perspirant and it’s working pretty well so far, so I MAAAY get to wear the little darling!!

I wish I could have my heavy bang back for the wedding, but I know they’ll get plastered to my face.

(Wow, that sounds AWESOME out of context).
