Although I woke up at what seemed like the *$# crack of dawn, I wasn’t too tired on the morning of our wedding. (I was able to fall asleep the night before thanks to exhaustion and Advil PM! Mr. Taffy was not as lucky- he didn’t sleep a wink.) Fueled by excitement and nerves, I raced through my shower, rushing to dry my hair. I had forgotten to set aside a button down shirt to wear to the salon, so I grabbed the first thing I could reach out of my closet and headed out to run some last minute errands with Lexie, my maid of honor, who had stayed the night.
At the salon, ready for action!!!

During planning, I was very concerned that the bridal party wouldn’t have enough to eat during the day leading up to the reception. On the way to the salon, Lexie and I picked up an odd mix of food including bagels, sandwiches from Jimmy Johns, coffee cake (my favorite kind from childhood) and granola bars. We even made sure that the snacks we brought for the bridal suite were granola bars that would not crumble on or stain our dresses! (Kashi Honey Almond Flax and Trail Mix chewies—tasty AND dress-proof!)
The salon had a private room with a table where we could eat and hang out while we were waiting.
My mom and sister arrived bearing excitement, coffee and juice.

I was relieved that I found a salon to take all seven of us on very short notice (my regular hairstylist had to cancel last minute)! While half of the ladies were being worked on, the rest of us had some breakfast and coffee. Although it was looking pretty stormy outside, we were all smiles!

Before I was taken to the salon chair, Kylie worked on my makeup. I’m not the best with that sort of thing, so I was thrilled when she volunteered to help me!
Bracing myself for eyeshadow:

How cute is my hairstylist and her bump?! My hair was getting closer…

And closer…

That’s a lot of curl action!!!

My matron of honor Liz helped place my veil:

And I was ready to go!
I have to give a huge shout out to our salon for getting all seven of us out so quickly—we even left ahead of schedule! We left the salon and met up at our hotel, where we caught a shuttle bus to our ceremony location. The mood was awesome… there was so much happiness and excitement in the air. (There were some rain drops, too!)
Next up, my first official recap with pro pics!!! I am so excited to share everything with you. ![]()
