About Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Our Guests Are Hilarious

February 24th, 2010 @ 6:04 pm by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

So, one of the best parts of wedding planning is getting the RSVP cards back and figuring out who will actually attend the wedding. Also, isn’t it fun to get mail every day that isn’t a bill or coupon? And, when people don’t put their return addresses on the back, I’m always excited to open it up and see who it’s from. I also love it when our guests get creative and send a little note to make us laugh or smile.

Some bees before me have even encouraged guests to leave notes by creating a line for them to write a little message. I tried to do something a little different with the RSVP wording, and one of our guests figured out a wonderful little rhyme that I didn’t even consider when choosing the wording.

Actually, that’s my sister. She’s so funny, and she’s not kidding.

Other people have commented on our invites and still others have said they are so excited for us. Each of them makes me smile and even more excited to see our guests on the day of the wedding.

Have any of your guests responded with funny words for you?

I think I’m going to leave a space for people to write something sweet/ witty/ totally inappropriate! It seems like it would get such an amazing response.

I really want to do this too. I’d love to ask about music requests, but since we are doing DIY iPod/computer played music I think that would be a pain to try and collect in the few weeks before the weeding. Love your sister’s response!

hehe I’ve done this before- but I didn’t rhyme… too creative that sister of yours! We aren’t doing response cards so we’ll miss out on the creativity of our friends and family… but we will give them the option to leave us a message in another way.

This is so funny and I never would have expected someone to reply with a fun message. From now on, I am making it a point to include a funny message on all RSVPs I return.

Dude, now I totally want our reply options to be:

( ) We will be taking advantage of the open bar

( ) We will be toasting from afar

Although I’m afraid we might confuse any guests who don’t drink…

Love it! Yeah, not an option for us since so many of our guests would be seriously offended by the mention of alcohol on the invitation, but that’s really funny. I hope some of our more rambunctious friends write something clever on their RSVPs, like I did when I addressed their Christmas cards to “Whores.”

That’s so cute! Now you’ve got me wishing I’d included a way for guests to customize their reply, but the RSVPs are already printed!

@Miss Cola: I didn’t really include a spot, but they found a way, so I imagine yours will too!
@Curlysue: It might help though, I wouldn’t rule it out if you want to do that!
@LittleSpitfire: Maybe you could have 2 RSVP cards and choose that one for certain guests?
