About Mrs. Pencils

Before I reveal the final product, I thought I’d give you some details of our invitations that I really like and enjoyed creating.

You’ve seen the envelope liners. Now for all that other stuff on the envelopes:

I printed the envelopes by hand-feeding them through my little printer. It would destroy five then work perfectly. Though I hand-addressed our Save the Dates, I downloaded a free front from Fontsforpeas and loved it! I used “Pea Ninh” because it offered a simple, not-overly-stiff-and-formal feel. They printed so well (I think) that they look like they were handwritten on there anyway!

I’m not uber crafty, but I can stamp! To tie in our travel theme, I stamped a compass on the front left of each envelope. I found the wooden stamp at my local craft store and I loved it:

I used a travel type stamp on the back of each envelope as well, after I sealed them. There were four different ones that resembled passport stamps. This was my favorite one:

We went with the fun love stamps featuring the King and Queen of Hearts:

The invitations are plantable, and are made from 100% recycled paper. They contain wildflower seeds and guests can remove the invites themselves, plant them, and grow them! They also contain embedded pieces of flowers and other greenery (that are donated to Womancraft by local grocers) as well as the seeds. It creates a gorgeous, textured look and feel:

They are held together by a ribbon:

Inside, guests will see two different fonts (Codex and Bonheur Royale) like this:

And instructions on how the invitations were made and how they are plantable:

The stickers are hidden under the invite itself, so they’re not obtrusive.

What are favorite details you’ve seen in invitation suites or have/had in your invitations?

Plantable paper, what a great idea! Have you planted one just to see how it grows?

For whatever reason, when I first saw the title of this post my mind thought it said “inflatable” instead of “plantable” and I thought, “damn, that’s something new!” Then I processed the word and laughed at myself. Anyway, these are super cool!
