“… that’s all I need to marry you.”
Simple words spoken by our officiant at our wrap-up meeting in January.
Well, last Friday it was time to fulfill the one outstanding obligation - Burger & I got licensed to wed!
Pennsylvania law states that a marriage license has to be used within 60 days, and with only 34 (OMG 34!) days until our wedding, we were go for launch!
We took the afternoon off on Friday to head up to York, Pennsylvania. Luckily, Pennsylvania allows you to get your marriage license in any county in the state, not just the one you plan to be married in, which saved us a few hours in the car!
Like many other bees have experienced, no cameras or cell phones were allowed in the building.
But, just 20 minutes after rolling in, we were heading out, on our way to celebrate!
What better way to celebrate than with beer?

It’s really happening! We are getting married!

Hooray! I have that marked in my calendar to do in April. How exciting! It’s almost official!

Congrats! My husband and I got our marriage license from the same courthouse (and we are both Penn Staters, btw)! I love reading your posts.

Yay! I’m super excited . . . and have to wait until mid-August. We can only get ours 30 days out.
yay! that’s so exciting! Where in York, Pa do they have beer flights???
hooray! one step closer. that flight of beers looks like a perfect way to celebrate after carrying that heavy piece of paper!

Congrats! Apparently MD lets you get your license within 6 MONTHS of getting married! Sooo…. I guess we should get on that
Is it bad that both of us didn’t need to go so he did it on his day off and I wasn’t even there? Oh well.
In Kansas, you have to file and then bring the paperwork back the next week and then you get your license.
@completely: true about the 2 step process…but at least it’s good for 6 months.

oh and here’s a tip - remember to bring it to the wedding. The d’orsays forgot….
