I’m so excited to be the newest bee! I first found Weddingbee the month of our engagement, and I haven’t missed a post since. After being inspired by all of the bees, I decided to start my own blog. I have so much fun writing about my experiences, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
I was super excited when the sea creature generation icons arrived in my inbox:

As my posts go on, it will become pretty obvious why I chose Miss Starfish. Our wedding is nautical inspired and somehow we decided to include starfish accents. I think it happened when we chose a website design, and the starfish theme went best. So from that point on we ended up with starfish as a big part of our wedding day.
A little about the Starfishes: I am a Boston native who left the city to attend a small college in search of a good education and Mr. Right, aka Mr. Starfish. I decided on Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. Luckily Mr. Starfish did, too. He was a Jersey guy interested in Salve, looking for a good education… and I think the girl-to-guy ratio (at the time it was 60/40) probably helped.
A month into the first semester I decided this wasn’t the place for me. I sent in my transfer papers to a college closer to home… and then I met Mr. Starfish. He was my dream guy… tall, amazing blue eyes, handsome, smart, a hockey player with a sense of humor and adorably sweet. After a couple of introductions, he asked me out on Halloween of our freshman year. We went on a date and it was awful. I actually told him later that “we would never work”. Pretty blunt. Luckily, he didn’t listen.
Despite having absolutely nothing in common, he became my best friend. After a few months of trying the friend thing, we gave it another shot. It’s now over 6 years later and we are about to get married, buy a house and continue to “make it work” forever.
I really can’t say how honored I am to be a bee. I hope you enjoy our wedding planning journey, and with a two year engagement, I have plenty to share!
