In Love with More Than One

March 3rd, 2010 @ 11:45 am by Mrs. Lace

I already bought my wedding dress. I went to six shops within two weeks and found a dress I really loved. I didn’t have that “a-ha moment” where I just knew I had found the dress of my dreams. I seldom shop like that. I usually find several things I love and then have to choose between them and I did the same when it came to my wedding dress. I was on a pretty strict budget. While several of my friends were spending up to $5,000 on their dresses, I had budgeted $1,000… including alterations. You can imagine how that really limited my choices. But, I’m a deal finder and I just knew I could find a dress I loved within my budget.

At the end of those two weeks, I found the dress (sorry kids, you’re going to have to wait for the wedding photos before I post my dress on the Internet for the world to see). It came in under budget, too.

However, since then, I’ve been watching Say Yes to the Dress, reading blogs and seeing gorgeous dresses. I’m not unhappy about my dress. Quite the opposite, in fact. I can’t wait to wear it. BUT, I want another dress. Can’t I wear two? Heck, three? People change during the reception right? I know, it’s generally into something completely different like a shorter, more comfortable dress or a traditional cultural dress (which I’m totally not doing. I spent the most money I’ve ever spent on one item of clothing. I’m not about to wear it for only one hour of my life).

I’m just being greedy, but indulge me. If I could wear a second dress, these would be a few of my options.

I guess I can say I love my dress MORE since I chose it over these other options, but I love these, too. What can I say? I’m a floozy.

Did you fall in love with more than one dress?

I think I would have 5 dresses if I could … I’m so torn between fluffy ballgowns and sleek sophisticated dresses … and I love whimsical fantasy styles too! Sadly for me, my budget only allows for one dress.

Say Yes To The Dress is the devil! I watch it almost everyday and it makes me second guess my dress choice :/
I need to stop watching it.

I love the last dress. It is so romantic!

I completely understand. I am not the kind of girl to say “That’s the only Dress” I always like a few and they are always completely different styles. I wanted a modern sophisticated dress and ended up getting a princess dress because everyone ooh’d and aah’d at it. I did Running of the Brides though and ended up with 2 dresses I adored for $750! I could have worn 5 so I quickly learned not to watch Say Yes to the Dress during my engagement!

I loved my dress and haven’t looked for any others/visited dress shops since :) I am a one-dress woman.

It took me 3 months to find the ONE and I knew the moment I put it on that this was the dress for me. It’s all about how it makes you feel. I felt like a princess and didn’t want to take it off.

I fell in love with two dresses for sure! My final decision came from which dress was on sale to be honest! I still really love the other dress but have been reassured many times by my close friends who have seen it that the one I have is truly “the” dress. They’re pretty honest and I know I can trust their opinions :)

Say Yes To The Dress has got to be my favorite show. Even more so now that I have my dress.

Every time I watch it, I’m reminded of how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE My dress. I almost cry every time I think about it. Fi is going to love it… :o)

Like you I didn’t have that MOMENT where it hit me that this was the dress. I love my dress dearly but I also am in love with another dress I tried on in my first (out of 3) attempts but it’s just too heavy for a destination wedding and my first choice is better suited for it. I feel your pain! LOL

I agree, say yes to the dress, makes me want to go dress shopping all over again!

Btw, I love the last two, those would be very cute reception dresses. I feel the same way, I feel like I spent way too much to just change into something else. That dress will be on my body as long as possible that day :)

Oh man, I’m in love with about 7 dresses. Would it be too much to change 7 times??
