I’d like to give you a peek of what was going on right before our first look.

Below, you will see our ceremony location, the Pendleton Room at The University of Michigan Union.

Our florist installed the white petal aisle, the only decor that we used except for a paper garland and the bouquets. My sisters placed the garland across the aisle, as guests would be seated using the outer walkways. I am so happy that our photographer captured the room before the ceremony! It was recommended by our DOC that we keep the curtains shut during the ceremony, but I couldn’t resist the beautiful windows! Luckily, our photographer knew ahead of time that we would be backlit during the ceremony and planned accordingly.

Mr. Taffy and our groomsmen arrived in their tuxes to the Union. They were greeted by our DOC, who then delivered their boutonnieres. I swooned over them at first sight, although I’m not sure if the guys were quite as affected.

Mr. Taffy’s brothers (my new brothers, yay!) were our best men. Here, one of them (you may know him of Weddingbee Gocco fame—he designed and printed our save the dates, invitations and Mr. Taffy’s bachelor invites) helps Mr. Taffy with his boutonniere.

This photo reminds me of the nervous minute that I had while getting ready downstairs!

In our reception room, our florist started getting ready to arrange our centerpieces:

While downstairs, our wonderful friend and officiant was looking over the incredibly touching and overall awesome ceremony that he wrote for us.

In a few minutes, our photographer, officiant and bridal party would meet Mr. Taffy and me on the steps of the Union for our first look! By now, the rain clouds had passed over Ann Arbor. The sky was blue and full of sunshine. It was such a lovely spring day!

Next up: I sneak up on Mr. Taffy!
