Side Bun

March 4th, 2010 @ 1:33 pm by Mrs. Argyle

Yeah, I know. I was pretty sure I had settled on this hairstyle. But after realizing how heavy it looked (and finding out they added a lot of extensions in her hair), I know that gorgeous hair style would be a hot mess after a few hours.

So, I’ve been thinking I will probably opt for something like this, instead. And, luckily, my hair trial this month, so I can finally make a decision, rather than just sit around dreaming of options.

It’s soft and unstructured, which I love and would fit well with my gown. And, since it seems I cannot make up my mind, I do know of one thing. I want my hair to be up. I plan on dancing my ass off, which means this girl’s hair needs to be up and out of the way.

A bun like that would look fantastic with a great hair flower (I quite like how eclectic this one is!).

Are you considering extensions for your wedding day hairstyle or are you working with what you’ve got?

I love the side bun! I’m looking to do something similar (I hope…I’ll need to grow enough hair in the next three months for it!), hair flowers and all!

Love the side bun and you actually look so much like Kristen Bell!

I love the pics! I’m going to be working with what I got, which isn’t a lot. I have naturally curly hair but it’s not very thick so a bun for medium length hair may look a little pathetic :( Too bad my hair likes to stop just past my shoulders.

I love the side bun too!! I am hoping my locks will be long enough in 7 months to pull something like it off! I also adore the hair flower and want one!

I’m not considering extensions. . . especially because my hair goes all the way down to my lower back! haha! I have no idea on how to do my hair yet.

I love the idea of the side bun, sadly my chubby cheeks will not allow me to pull off an up-do :oP Oooh I love the flower too!

So here is my question, do you still want us to remind you about the old style months from now? :P JK. I like this alot, I’m going for a similar look - soft, up and elegant. Plus I’m a big Kristen Bell fan, so you won my vote!

Ooh I’m doing a side bun too! My hair is past my shoulders and ridiculously thick (which I guess comes in handy here) so no extensions here. :)

I love the look of side buns, but I can’t figure out if it would really work with a veil - I’ll probably just stick with a low bun in back!

I love this style!! Like you, I like how relaxed and “unstructured,” it is. Although it’s still beautiful and elegant! I think it’s a more natual look than your first pick too. Good find!!

Since my hair is nearly down to my arse, I will not be adding extensions.

However, extensions hold curl better so hrm…. looks like half up half down for me.

I would love some, but don’t think they’re necessary since I have fairly long hair :P

@Lillindy: Thanks lady! That’s what the Mr. said when I showed him this picture, too.

@bluebutterfly: I know the hair flower is from Etsy, but the photographer wasn’t able to find out for me.

@Ella1978: I still love the old style, but it’ll be too heavy :( I’d say remind me of this new one in a few weeks when I’m at my hair trial.

@fancygirl: No extensions for me either. My hair grows fast and is pretty thick.

@clarebee: Clip ins can be an easy way to make your hair bulk up.

@krissybee: You can borrow some of my thickness!

I’m working with what I got after a 14 month grow out! I can’t wait to see how the hair trial turns out. I love that hair.

Cute and relaxed - I prefer this to your original.
