Sometimes there are moments in my life that seem too perfect to be real.
I was having a stressful week and was about to leave for a three month trip to the States. Mr. Veggie suggested that we take a bike ride to one of our favorite spots, Te Toto Gorge. We laid down on the grass and looked up at the clouds. He sat up in the sun overlooking the Tasman Sea, handed me the keychain ring of our bike lock and asked me to be his wife.

I don’t write in my journal very often, but here’s what I jotted down that night:
Pushbikes for 10k over a gravel road,
Te Toto gorge is so beautiful it gave you vertigo.
Hike down the trail, breakers in front and far below.
The Tasman Sea to our right.
Windblown tree and that would be a good spot to camp.
“So do you think we should get married?”
“I mean, [Miss Veggie], will you marry me?”
“Ask me again”
“Yes, yes, yes”
Lay back in the grass in your arms.
Two clouds in the sky, a double helix, no an ibex horn.
Three layers of clouds moving in opposite directions.
Can’t stop smiling.
We’re getting married!
“Sheep, you are all invited.”
Did you record your thoughts after you got married, either on paper, on camera, or on video?
so pretty~ the location and your words! I’m pretty sure i had no thoughts after the proposal, so no recorded anything for me! 
I’m not much of a diary type either, but reading your words after the engagement made me wish I’d done the same!
I did indeed, and I am very much looking forward to reading them down the line. Veggie, this is unbelievable. How absolutely wonderful. I love that you invited the sheep.

What a beautiful place to get engaged. I love what you wrote in your journal…its very unique and no one else could ever write those words as their own. Only you had that moment with Mr. Veggie and only he had that moment with you.
We got engaged on the beach and asked a pregnant lady standing nearby to take our photo! 
I’m very interested in seeing more sweet words from you Ms. Veggie!
that’s wonderful! i wrote in my travel journal several days after he asked. we were on the road at the time and i was really really ill 
That is seriously such a good idea. I didn’t get my thoughts down on paper, but I still do remember them pretty well, and luckily have photos to help me remember.
This is great! I am the type that likes to write down everything, so I recorded the entirety of the day. I put it in an engagement scrapbook with photos and even gave a copy to my FI - which he says he reads from time to time.
My FI had my brother take pictures for us while he was proposing.
