About Mrs. Pencils

Don’t we all?

The few times I’ve been to New York City, I made sure to get a hot dog from a cart on the street. I love food that comes from a mobile location. It always tastes better.

That’s why I love this new trend of hiring food trucks to cater weddings. It’s brilliant, I tell you, brilliant. If I could do it all over again, I’d hire a food truck. (Or I’d go for a whole bunch of fun finger foods. It’s a toss up.) Wouldn’t you go for a food truck if you could have one of these trucks at your wedding?

Or how about this amazing BBQ? (If it looks that good, imagine how yum yummy it is!)

I’d also want a popcorn truck, a candy truck, and/or a pancake truck. Just saying.

If you could have a food truck at your wedding, what would it serve?

You would need to have your wedding in a huge parking lot to have all that! :-)
I’m a mini-donuts kind of lady myself.

You could still hire an ice cream truck to pull up for dessert! One of the photographers we were considering showed us pics of a wedding where they had one. The pictures were adorable and everyone looked like they were having fun with it.

I would absolutely get the Fojol Bros truck. Such retro kitsch.

Ooh, I love the sound of the Mmmmmpanadas truck! That may end up being our late night snack …
There was a food truck outside campus back when I was in college that served _the_ best greasy chinese food dumplings I’ve ever had. Not like classy dumplings, mind you, but the fabulously salty deliciously oily “nobody in China would ever recognize this” dumplings. Now I’m craving them!!

The best mexican food you’ve ever had! That’s what mine would serve. I read an NYT article on a delicious one located in south texas… mmm.

I’m so on the food truck wagon with you :)

Miss Scissors - Mass Ave in what city? The dumpling truck I’m missing right now was on Mass Ave in Cambridge, MA. Wouldn’t it be funny if we were talking about the same Chinese truck?

I have nostalgia for the bonanza of food trucks that populated the corner a block away from my grad school back east. There were literally four different Indian options, at least that many Thai, two Mexican, an Ethiopian, a Mediterranean, it was ridiculous. They would all be there at my hypothetical food-truck wedding. In fact maybe I’d just storm them all unawares with my guests, that would be fun. Did I forget to mention that there was a CUPCAKE TRUCK too? Yeah. Yeah.

We went with a traditional caterer so that we could get their commitment to eco-friendly habits and local and organic and ethical foods, but foodtrucks rock too.

There’s a truck in NYC called Street Sweets and I’d have them show up just for the yummy pumpkin whoopie pies and mulled apple cider.

For years, I dreamed of having the In-n-Out truck cater my wedding. But then I found out that the truck doesn’t do fries. You get chips. Boo.
