Say I Do to the Shoe

March 5th, 2010 @ 5:00 pm by Mrs. Pudding

The search for the perfect, low heeled shoe has been a long and hard one. Nevertheless, I am happy to announce that I (may) have achieved the impossible! I managed to find a beautiful, stylish, comfortable shoe with a heel that is under 3 inches!

Meet Eddy, by Badgley Mischka. At first, I wasn’t sure if she and I would be a perfect fit (pun intended). I liked the broach, and the silk overlay thing. But I wasn’t so sure about the ankle strap, and I still missed the glamour that only a 4 inch heel could provide.

I ordered the shoe from Zappos. I figured that I had nothing to lose because of their free shipping and great return policy. And than, they came:

I opened the box with bated breath. I honestly wanted them to be perfect, but I was so nervous that they would disappoint me.

I took them out of the box, and stared at them for a good 10 minutes. Did I love them? Were they perfect? I wasn’t sure, so I took them for a little photo shoot.

Hmm… they look good from the front. I had to put them on my feet to know for sure. I took them to my usual I-need-to-take-pics-of-my-shoes spot.

This is exactly how Mr. Pudding found me when he got home from work: unshowered, in a dirty sweatshirt, with my sweat pants rolled up, and Badgley Mischka shoes on my feet. I swear I kept them on all evening, trying to decide whether or not I liked them.

I had to admit that they were very comfortable. I called Mama Pudding via Skype and showed them to her using my web cam. She really loved them! Getting that little bit of encouragement from Mama P meant a lot, and forced me to evaluate exactly what it was about these shoes that made me hesitate. I realized that the only thing that could make these shoes more beautiful would be a 4 inch heel. I can’t expect to find a low heeled shoe that comes with a high heel, now can I?

So, it’s been decided. They stay! I am still going to keep my eyes open, since these babies were a little pricier that I wanted to spend, but I am happy to report that I will not be walking down the aisle barefoot!

How is your shoe hunt going?

Ms. Pudding– those are gorgeous! I love the jewel at the toe! Beautiful!

I am having such a hard time finding the perfect shoes! I need them to have a very small heel, since my FI is only about 2 inches taller than I am. And since seeing Ms. Frozen Yougurt’s Bridal photoshoot, I have become obsessed with the idea of having blue shoes! (I also have size 11 feet, so finding shoes for me is always a difficult task!).

Anyone know of any fabulous low-heeled blue shoes availible in size 11 that won’t break the bank?

Being a tall lady marrying a guy who is my height, I, too have been on the hunt for the perfect low-heeled shoe. Which is hard when your heart goes aflutter for sky-high stilettos…..
Thanks for showing us that they do exist!

Those are cute! I’ve actually been looking for a pair of low heels like that! I have slightly wide feet. Do you think they’d fit me?

Gorgeous! I just ordered my 2 inch heels, Kate Spade Newlyweds, from Bluefly on Wednesday. Hopefully I love them in person!

Those are really pretty and with a black dress later on—yes! I found some red shoes on Zappos a few days ago too, closed toe though, and I can’t wait to get them in and see if they fit–they were an 8.5(M)(B) and I don’t know what the (B) stands for but I bought them since I can return easily.

These are beautiful shoes! I am not on a shoe hunt yet but I know its going to be difficult for me as I have flat feet (Zero arches!!) and thus I find heels very very painful to walk in for any longer than 2 hours. And I am also quite tall (5′11) so I never ever wore heels because I didn’t want to be any taller especially in middle school (yea I was tormented because I was taller than most boys and girls). I would like to wear heels on my wedding day and Mr. Newfie is 6′5 I could wear heels and still be shorter than him which is nice but I am just afraid of being in pain and thus the search will be for pretty ballet flats…. which can be hard to come by.

Oooh I think these are gorgeous! I love the gold knots.

When it comes to shoes, I surprised myself. I’m a huge shoe addict but I ended up buying my wedding shoes on clearance at DSW ($28!) BEFORE I even started shopping for my dress. They’re rose pink satin sandals with a 2.5 inch heel and ankle straps. Very simple but pretty. I haven’t looked back once. I think what’s keeping me fixated on them is the thought of adorning them with a gorgeous flower clip from B Poetic! It’s the perfect simple shoe for one of those romantic looking shoe clips.

Woohoo! I’m glad you found your shoes. I’m also on the hunt for a low-heeled but glamorous shoe, and very apt to spend way too much on the one that I’m in love with. Oh dear.
