I’m not totally sure what bridesmaid’s dresses I want, but we have a definite look we are going for: very nautical and Newport. Mr. Starfish is extremely laid back and was pretty excited at the idea of wearing a navy blazer and khakis over a tux. When we first started talking about weddings, he told me he wanted to get married on the beach in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. I wanted something a little more formal, so this seems like the perfect compromise. More casual for him, but formal enough for me. I think the look is more “us”.

I think this “look” screams relaxed and casual, which I think leads to a relaxing and fun day. Don’t these people look like their having a good time?

My bridesmaids are wearing that strapless Ann Taylor dress, but in black. The blue was sold out at the time we ordered it - but the dresses are soo cute in person and comfortable! Our colors are fuschia and kelly green and we are not getting married by the water. On the campus of our alma mater.

My bridesmaids are wearing those exact Ann Taylor dresses. They’re really cute! And you can usually get a 30% off coupon, so that’s nice.

I love it! We’re getting married in Punta Cana, and I used navy and a pale pink as our colors - one of my friends, bless her, called our invites / look as “lilly pulitzer meets ralph lauren”. I think navy is so classy and your look is beautiful!

My bridesmaids are wearing J. Crew Lorelei dresses in navy (possibly with a gray sash). Our colors are navy, white, gray and moss green. Trying not to be overly nautical though Incorporating ribbon and polka-dots makes it fun and a little more whimsical.
Boat line is a great way to incorporate the nautical theme too–like in the boys’ bouts above. We’re going to use boat line to tie our cocktail linens too.

yup we are getting married right along the Niagara river.. our colors are aqua and white, and we are having a “water” theme.. lots of floating candles with seaglass and flowers in the water… etc.
