Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.
About Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

The plan for the program was slowly developed. At first I tried to do it on my own with templates I found on the internet, but none of them were turning out exactly as I had envisioned them. I realized quickly that I needed a little help. I had the words and idea down, but I needed some help with formatting and adding special touches. That’s when I decided to call on Mrs. Gloss through her Etsy shop Fourth and Folded. She helped with the layout and developed a special little couple information page for us.

I decided that I wanted to create a burlap cover for them once she sent them over, and although it was quite a process, I’m really excited about how they turned out:

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 16 1

But before we really get into it, here are all the tools I needed to make this work:

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 25 2

Once I had everything together I got to work. First I cut all the pages and burlap (no photos). Then, I hole punched through the burlap and cardstock:

Then I tied twine through each hole that I punched:

And here is the finished product, page by page:

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 54 5

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 63 6

Here’s a close up. Although, this part pains me to show you because I had a minor breakdown when I flipped to this page. See, there is an error, and I didn’t notice until I had printed and cut all of them. I contemplated reprinting, but I don’t own a printer and I spent money printing each and every page. I decided that it wasn’t worth it to reprint them and hopefully no one will notice. But since I love all of you, I will point out the error–see that part that says Remembrances and Acknowledgments? Read underneath it. Then, see that part that says Announcements? Read underneath that.

Did you realize that the titles were in the wrong place? The text for each is under the wrong section. I should have caught it in the proof and I just didn’t; it’s totally my fault. Hopefully no one at the wedding will pay attention to that.

Here’s a close up on my favorite part:

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 83 8

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 93 9

Our Little Wedding Program : wedding dallas diy programs 10 10

Phew! I love them, but they have been a lot of work. I still think it was definitely worth it and I hope our guests will really like them.

Did you make a printing goof in any of your wedding stationery? Did you reprint, or let them go?

These are adorable!!! I’m a HUGE stickler for errors (and I can rarely let them go) but I HONESTLY think you can leave your programs as they are. The headers are much less noticible/offensive than a spelling or grammatical mistake. I’d be willing to bet money you’re the only one at the wedding who knows!

They turned out great! And I had to read it a couple of times to figure out anything was wrong - I definitely wouldn’t have noticed if you hadn’t said anything!

Totally hate to do this to you, but there’s a second error on that page as well (which I honestly honed in on before the header one…)

You’re missing a “the” in the sentance about the wish tree.

@llc2011: Thanks! It was my favorite part.
@mandstan: Aww, thanks! I showed a lady at work the program and asked her to point out the error, she didn’t, so I figured I was safe, she’s a stickler too.
@melissao85: Sorry, Mrs. Gloss did that part for me and I paid her to design it, but you could contact her to make something for you.
@Beth: awesome, thanks.

I didn’t even notice the error after reading the excerpt until you pointed it out - I think it’s safe to proceed without recourse!

Like everyone else, I might steal your timeline idea - way too cute not to! =)

These look fantastic! Definitely worth all the hard work. I only noticed the error after you pointed them out - and I’m a former copy editor! No one is going to notice or care. They’ll be too busy admiring your cute details (love your relationship info sheet) or how nice the burlap covers are.

those are awesome! i love the look and feel of them. and that’s a really nice touch that you added personal information about you two as a couple–what a great idea! and you’re right, nobody will care about the titles being switched, and certainly no one will stomp out of the wedding because of it.

I think they are awesome. . .
I just have a question. . .
Are you planning to do something to the border or the burlap? maybe you could sew them or something like that to prevent damage.

Let it go. Nobody will notice. Even if they notice they won’t know it’s a mistake, just something different. Seriously, let it be.

Nice job!
