Confessions of a Stampaholic

March 9th, 2010 @ 10:04 am by Mrs. Nachos

Oh stamps stamps stamps. In the voice of Steve Carell, I love stamp. Once I used my first stamp on the card box tag, I had an itch. I needed to stamp more. I wanted to stamp everything. And I figured with the burning desire to lightly dip a stamp onto an ink pad and press a neat little design onto paper, now was as good a time as any to tackle our invitations. I broke out the envelopes and became a stamping fool!

70 envelopes with our address stamp finished. But oh, I needed more! So I stamped our RSVP envelopes with our return address.

70 more envelopes finished, but I still needed more! So I printed out the RSVP cards and put a cute little stamp on the side of those. Ah, and don’t forget about the ‘all you need is love’ stamp—I used that on both sets of envelopes. And I ended up with all of these…

After all was said and done, I stamped 350 times and I can honestly say that unlike with a lot of DIY projects, I never got to the point of thinking, ‘am I ever going to finish???’ I think I’ve gotten my fix for now. Although, I actually asked Mr. Nachos if I could stamp our address on his butt. He said no.

If you’re a DIYer, what has been your most fun project?

Where did you get your address stamps made? I’ve got the stamp itch too, and have been looking all over but can’t find any cute ones!

I just loved the Steve Carell reference. I have to be honest and say that I do not love stamp, but thankfully, my mother is a stampaholic and doing the dirty work for me =)

Yay for stamping. I love stamping too. I’ve also noticed that I am really enjoying working with ribbon. Who knew. I sure didn’t.

Have you talked to someone at the post office about whether return address stamp will work as a main address on the RSVP? I was thinking of using a stamp and was worried that the flourish on it would make it difficult for them to read.

Stamps are fun, they are my kind of DIY because there is not much to it, but it makes a big impact. Plus, you feel kind of “Official” stamping something, like you work at the DMV or something. LOL.

Those look really good. I especially love the “All you need is love” saying on the envelopes. So cute!

Those look too cute and too bad your FI wouldn’t let you stamp ya’lls addy on his butt. Just a little FYI for himself when he’s out an about and gets lost or something! haha!

I am very superstitious about getting anything with my with my married name before the wedding, and I felt like it was a waste to buy a stamp w/ my maiden name since it would be useless post wedding. I’m doing address labels (home made) instead, but a TON of stamping in general! You should see our STD envelopes- I went a litte stamp crazy too!

I love stamping too, have you tried embossing? It’s my new favorite!
