Mrs. Hamster, New York City Age and Occupation: 28, Finance Gal Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Finance Guy Engagement Date: March 9, 2009 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: The Pierre Hotel About Me: I'm an original Jersey girl living it up in the big NYC! I love baking for others, hosting brunches, and exploring NYC with my mans. Besides Mr. Hamster (of course), I'm attracted to shiny things, bold colors, snacks, matching and coordination, pork and duck fats, miniature versions of things, corny jokes and puns. We are planning a swanky Spring wedding in the heart of NYC, followed by a second reception in Singapore. From one city that never sleeps to another - I can't imagine a more exciting ride!
About Mrs. Hamster

In my previous shoe post, I found the perfect red shoes - perfect for anyone but me, that is. I love the look of brightly colored shoes under a poufy wedding dress; however, my dress isn’t poufy, so those shoes would be peeking out every. single. step. Perhaps it might be a little distracting as I traipse down the aisle. Sad - I’m so in love with these shoes! Let’s take another look at them, shall we?

A Sartorial Affair - The Other Shoes : wedding nyc shoes Redshoe1

The Louboutin Ernesta Bow in Red

So, after a period of post break-up bumming, I accepted the fact that these red shoes wouldn’t be walking me down the aisle. So, what shoes will take their place? After some intense Zappos searching, here are the contenders:

1. Stuart Weitzman Wicky

Cute enough. The platform makes the height more bearable, and it’s ceremony appropriate. The big bummer? Zappos doesn’t carry my size. I’ve put in a notification for when it does become available, but that stinks. I like them, but am not in love with them. Is this shoe worth cheating on my red ones?

2. Badgley Mischka Ralph

These are also cute and actually are available in my size, so brownie points for that. Getting warmer…

3. Stuart Weitzman Avalon

I was going to call this the “Poor Woman’s Louboutin Glitter,” but then saw that these weren’t exactly inexpensive. Whoops. Anyhoo, I really love these, but *again* with the not having my size. I’m on the list for these as well, but who knows if they will come in. But I must admit, if these shoes were available, I would consider cheating on my Loubies.

4. Badgley Mischka Randee - Gold

Okay, my red shoes should be worried. These are super cute. One of my bridesmaids, who’s also getting married, actually found them for *her* wedding, but I’m totally stealing them (I asked her first, no dramz). And they are actually available in my size! The one thing was that my dress is white with silver accents, so I really wanted white or silver shoes. Not sure if this gold will work - am I just setting myself up for heartbreak once more? You can be honest, hive.

5. Badgley Mischka Randee - White

These are the same shoes as above, but in white. It would totally solve my gold/silver clashing worries, but once again, they’re not available in my size. Come on Zappos, throw me a bone here! I’m on the waiting list for these as well…

So 5 pairs of shoes, with only 2 available in my size. Argh! And I have no idea how (un)comfortable any of them are, so I might just end up returning them. I’m getting down to the wire here! Now, I turn to you.

Ignoring the fact that only 2 of these shoes are in stock, which pair do you most imagine on a Hamster?

Did you love the colored shoe trend at first, only to pull back to a more traditional color later?

Luuurve the Randees! I like the white a little better if you can get them, but who cares if it doesn’t match your dress perfectly? ;) The gold ones are gorgeous!

Have you tried goolging the style name? I bet those shoes are sold a LOT of other places besides Zappos. It might help to broaden the search scope a bit - you may just find them :)!

Love the shoes especially the Badgleys. Have you tried Endless.com? They have free shipping like Zappos and may have your size.

I love the Randee in white. I had ordered the Randee in the gold color as well, and I found that they weren’t “gold” enough for my liking- they are more of a muted shade in person. Also, the ruffle seems more beige in person.
You are so right about those glitter shoes being Poor Man’s Louboutin’s… although not cheap, they are still far cheaper than the CL’s!

If you’re willing to shell out the money for them, I’d suggest the same as the girls above and look elsewhere. I love those and would get them for myself if I could! So dreamy!

I agree with Miss Pretzel–stay with the red :) But the others are some pretty great alternatives!

I LOVE the BM in gold. I think it adds something unexpected on your feet without it being like, “Hey red shoes!” under there, you know?

I voted for the Randee in White, but if you love the red Louboutins, you should wear them!

Definitely the white Randees - the seem to be the best white compromise to you red Louboutins.

I think the Ralph is similar to the Louboutins and they’re silver!

I LOVE the Stuart Weitzman Avalon. They were a serious contender in my search for THE wedding shoe.
