Mrs. Hot Wings, Chicago/San Diego Age and Occupation: 28, Professor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Instructor Engagement Date: December 20, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2010 Venue: Ocean View Villas/Jasmine Seafood Restaurant About Me: I am a psychology grad student living in Chicago and planning my wedding to a fellow psych grad student. I am a Sunny So-Cal bred gal who trudged across the country to follow her love of psychology and ended up finding a partner in the process. I am overly passionate about anything I involve myself with. I am an activist, a foodie, a reality TV watching junkie, an over-analyzer, a photography obsesser, and am utterly cheesy to the core. This is a story of what happens when a boy and a girl meet, fall in love over academic dorkiness, and a shared love for life. We (mostly I) are planning our semi-destination wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are excited to bring our families and friends together from across our lifespans to celebrate our future in a grand 400+ person culturally blended affair!
About Mrs. Hot Wings

Ice Skating + Wedding + Camera = Priceless! : wedding proposal san diego 19.jpg

*personal photo*

This past weekend, Mr. Hot Wings decided we would have a Chicago date day! We started the day with some ice skating at Chicago’s Millennium Park. The city puts in a temporary ice rink each winter that is free for public use. You just pay for skate rentals. Since we have our own skates, it’s a free activity.

Well, remember how I mentioned the decade I spent figure skating? And remember how I wanted to put my talents to use but didn’t know how? Well hive, I have some fun photos to share with you from the Hot Wings skating trip.

Yup! A bride and groom who decided to hop on the ice for a photo-op! And as if it couldn’t have rocked my world anymore, it got better. With my camera ready to document, I caught this…

… and then this.

** all personal photos. Sorry for the quality on some, but I had to share anyways.**

Their first fall as a couple, and they picked each other up. Isn’t it sweet? Congratulations and cheers to the happy couple!

Have you accidentally been witness to any awesome weddings?

I pass wedding parties all the time taking pictures in front of Wrigley Field. You never can help sneaking a peek! Did you get a chance to go to the rink at Wrigley? We went on a Friday night and it was small but it was a blast!

A lot of people were accidental witnesses to our proposal. :) We were engaged in downtown Seattle over the holidays…people started clapping and cheering and one lady let me borrow her santa hat and took our picture. It was really exciting having the crowd enthusiasm!

So cute! I went to Mount Soledad with Mr. Lace earlier this year just because he hadn’t seen it yet and there was a couple getting married up there with an awesome view of San Diego! I ogled and watched the ceremony. :)

Aww, very cute idea! Would be quite difficult to do if you had a long wedding dress on though . . .

@Coccinelle: Yay figure skaters!
@Miss Nachos: I never got to go. I’m a wimp in the cold. We only went this past weekend b/c it was so warm.
@clane616: Yay… can’t wait for the meet up.
@mrspaetz: I am so tempted!
@Miss Lace: I would totally ogle too!
@KendraBakes: I agree.
@Mrs. French Bulldog: I wonder too! I hope she doesn’t get upset. I figured it happened in public so it’s fair game.

I toured Sicily with my college orchestra many years ago, and in the heart of Palermo we saw a huge Sicilian wedding pour into one square and the couple paused for photos next to a huge fountain. I snuck a lot of photos, I was worried someone might be annoyed but I think if it were me I’d just be happy to brighten someone else’s day with our wedding.
