I live in a house truck and wear flip-flops more often than shoes. In my old life I was a high school Spanish teacher in love with a crazy guy who lived off-the grid on a farm in New Hampshire. But, we decided to mix things up a bit, quit our jobs and move to New Zealand. My southern hemisphere lifestyle involves growing veggies, teaching, running our small non-profit, and surfing. I love laughing, singing, playing, and the inspirational Mr. Veggie (of course!). For our wedding, I am committed to throwing a killer party that celebrates our values without breaking the bank. Look forward to an eco-thrifty summer-campy weekend-long extravaganza.

Mr. Veggie - Trendsetter?

March 11th, 2010 @ 1:55 pm by Mrs. Veggie

So, it turns out that Mr. Veggie’s fashion insight is stronger than I give him credit for - apparently vests are very in these days. After a short round of internetting I quickly lost any doubts I had about the vest concept. Heck, I’d marry one of these dudes. They look great!

How would a group of such dudes look all together?

Mr. Veg, when you’re right, you’re right. Vests for everyone.

Are the men in your wedding wearing vests? Where did they purchase/rent them from?

We thought about it, but it’s just not Mr. Lace’s style even though we love the way they look!

We’ll have vests–but they’ll be under tuxedos.

YUP! We aren’t having a wedding party so the fun photos won’t be there with the group but I don’t care. I can’t wait to see him in his vest, shirt and pants—woo hoo to hottness!

Yup! I love the vest look! We haven’t decided where to get them yet, though. Not many stores carry them, so we’ve been restricted to looking online so far!

He is the trendsetter. We’re not doing the vests, but I love how they look.

Like sapphirebride, we’ll have vests also, but under the suits! We’re renting from Al’s Formal Wear.

Vest under the tux.. but I guarantee that once the formal dances are done, you won’t see that jacket for another second on our boys! So you’ll get to see the vests :)

Like your Mr. Veg, when I asked my mister what he wanted to wear, he replied “A vest!” without hesitation. Can’t wait to see wear you guys end up getting yours. We’re looking a pants and a vest (no jacket-eep) from J. Crew.

Most tuxedos include vests, and ours will too. The reception will almost certainly feature the men taking their jackets off to be a little less warm, so yeah at that point they’ll be in just vests. We debated ivory vests to go with the ivory shirts, but ended up going with black since the ivory didn’t quite match between the vest and the shirt which just looked off.

My boys will be wearing vests. So far we have FI’s from Buckle. Not sure where we will get the other guys but I may pull a Miss Sewing and sew them myself!
