About Mrs. Sprinkle

Sprinkle Soiree: The Kids' Table! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Kidsta Just in case you are one of those people on the fence about whether or not to invite children to your wedding, I hope this post helps sway you (one way or the other…)!

I had a great time planning out the fun stuff for all the kids who would be at our wedding. From crafting activity kits for each individual child, to making sure they had plenty to eat and drink.

Sprinkle Soiree: The Kids' Table! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Kidsta01 We had a special meal for the under 14s: vegan pizza and pb&j. I also made sure we had several kinds of water and lemonade that they could consume, along with a chocolate soy milk at every place setting. And I have to say, the milk was a total hit!

Sprinkle Soiree: The Kids' Table! : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap Kidsta02 I also spent a lot of time creating individual activity boxes that suited each child’s likes and needs. The pre-teen girls received some magazines, lip gloss, notebooks and jewelry kits. The smaller kidlets had boxes full of stickers, bracelets, princess stuff, race cars, army men, and bouncy balls. Everyone, regardless of age or gender, received a fairy wand and a slinky because I love both toys. :)

We kept the decor on the table to a minimum, because kids tend to knock things over, ALL THE TIME. Instead of flower centerpieces we put out jars of glow sticks and straws and lollipops. Along with the bright colored pencil boxes and wands, it was all that was needed to make the kids’ table look magical.

The seating arrangement at their table was just as planned out as the adult tables! We kept the youngest kids closest to our babysitter, the older kids in the middle of the table, and the wildest kids toward the back near their parents. :) It must have worked, because the children were on their best behavior all night. They really did stay at the table throughout dinner, and after dinner they spent a lot of time hamming it up at the photo booth.

I also left a basket full of bigger toys with our DOC, to be taken out after dinner. It was crammed with coloring books, Etch-A-Sketch, baby dolls, art kits, jewelry kits, flashlights and more. The kids had a blast and got to take it all home at the end of the night.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I have been racking my brain about what to do with the kids at our wedding. My niece and nephew can be a little rambuncious when bored and I think the ideas you mentioned are PERFECT to keep them occupied all night. THANK YOU for the inspiration!

I love this! Looks like the kids had a blast! We won’t have enough kids for a full-on kids table, but we’re definitely providing activity books!!

Those kiddos are so lucky! I’m sure they had a blast at your wedding. We had children at our wedding too, but they didn’t get a stash like yours did :)

So. Awesome. We’re having a few kids at our evening ceremony and reception (our nephews and about 6 kids over the age of 5) and are providing a fleet of babysitters and a suite for the littlest ones (at last count we have about 20 kids under the age of 4). I love the activity boxes and think I will totally copy you on that.

Your kid table is great! I love having kids at weddings. They are too cute when they are all dressed up and dancing around. I gave the kids bags with coloring pages, crayons, small toys and glow sticks. They glow sticks were a hit!

That’s great! I prepared a coloring book, stickers and a couple of toy cars for a 3yr old but his mom decided against bringing him in the end (only kid on the list). I love what you did!

Kids have so much fun at weddings so I like the idea of inviting them. Not to mention, they just look so adorable all dressed up. :)

Great ideas for a kids table. Thanks for sharing.

I didn’t even think about entertainment for the kids! Thank you for the ideas! I won’t be having a kids table as they will be sitting with their parents, but I’m going to have goody bags to hand out! Thanks again!!

Oh man, if I had been at your wedding, people would have been wondering who that REALLY big kid was sitting at the end of the kid table. Um, that would be me.

Yes, we are having kids at the wedding.

I’m a teacher and judging from the photos, you did an awesome job of keeping those kids occupied!

Oh man! Very very cute. The parents of these kids must have been STOKED to be able to enjoy themselves while the kiddos were off at their AWESOME table!
