About Mrs. Hot Wings

Goodie 2 Shoes

March 12th, 2010 @ 12:40 pm by Mrs. Hot Wings

I’ve got shoes issues. Apparently it’s the trend around these parts, huh? Check Miss Cola and Miss Stripes.

My requirements were quite simple. HIGH! I’m 5 feet tall and Mr. Hot Wings is 6, so it can be difficult to dance together and such. Mama Hot Wings also insisted on height. Don’t worry, I wear heels all the time, and I think my figure skating days made my feet OK with pain. I also wanted them to be of a color.

Right after I found the dress, I rushed around thinking I wanted gold shoes. They would match my coral Ao Dai for the tea ceremony and would go with our color scheme.

Aldo 4” platforms (do you like the toes?)

But I really had my eyes on these babies:

I waited and waited… then I got a 20% off coupon for them and I jumped for a whopping $80. I talked myself into getting them. They were waiting for my patiently when I came home one day. I flung the box open and was immediately disappointed. Mr Hot Wing immediately said, “you got black shoes?”

Yummy no? But look at the color. OK fine, so the description said “new navy”. But didn’t the picture make them look more blue? I was starting to realize I wanted so badly for them to be a brighter blue that I convinced myself of it.

I tried to put them in the sun to see if they are more blue.

What do you think? I really want to love them. Should I try again and go for a brighter blue?

I like that they are navy although it seems you want a lighter blue. Either way, I like the gold pair more! The gold shos look better on your feet.

I think they’re great! No offense to Mr. Hot Wings, but I think he’s nuts. Ok, not nuts, but a guy. My FI would probably say the same thing. If you want a lighter pair then go for it, but I think the shoes are HOT, HOT, HOT!!

I feel like they probably photograph more blue than they look in real life. A lot of navy satin does that. You’ll find the perfect shoe…keep looking!

Love them! Boys are silly. And I think they are a great navy color.

What’s wrong with them???? I’d say, go for it. My Asian mother freaked out over my choice of black shoes and tried to get all my aunts, my godmother and even my wedding dressmaker to convince me that i’m absolutely CRAZY for doing this. I stood my ground.

After the wedding, as we were going thru pictures, my Mom remarked, “Oh actually no one could even see your shoes huh.”

Go for it! (The tall gold ones are HAWT too though ;) )

I just want to say KUDOS on the 4+ inch heels. I’m 5′5″ and my fiance is 6′6″ - but I stuck to 2.5″ shoes… I don’t think my tootsies would deal for 12 hours in anything higher!

I think there gorgeous and you can tell they are blue. Remember guys do not always pay to close attention to the things that matter to us ladies. If you don’t like the shade I say get a new pair.

They definitely do not look black, in any light, if that’s what you’re worried about. But if you have your heart set on bright blue, then I say hold on to them while you keep searching!

I have some dark red shoes that I’m afraid will look black. But if you really love them, wear them! Most guests won’t really notice your shoes and just make sure your photographer gets them in good light so your memories of them will always be blue.

I think they look navy and not black. I’m getting Ninas in the same color for my wedding (the BMs are wearing navy) - Nina does have a brighter blue though also if you still want to change because the shoe itself is gorgeous

I love both the gold and the blue! But if you are looking for a brighter blue maybe you should keep looking for that.

Since you have some time, I’d say go hunting for the lighter blue to make you feel complete on your wedding day. On the other hand, both of those shoes are drop dead gorgeous!
