The Final Push

March 15th, 2010 @ 1:50 pm by Mrs. Cheeseburger

Hey there hive! Sorry about the mini hiatus, but I’m baaaack and ready to share our FINAL PUSH! People, we are less than two weeks out. HELLO?! Can you say EXCITING?!

So where have I been? Temporarily relocating. I’ve moved back to the ’Burgh until the big day! While that means being apart from Burger, which is sad :(, it also means reuniting with this:

The Final Push : wedding pittsburgh Februar

and this:

The Final Push : wedding pittsburgh Februar01

and this:

The Final Push : wedding pittsburgh Februar02

oh and who can forget all of this:

The Final Push : wedding pittsburgh Februar03

After almost two years of slowly transporting wedding stuff to my parents’ house, we’re finally back under the same roof! Unfortunately for my parents, our wedding has officially taken over their space. The picture directly above is in their living room because the basement is completely filled! Luckily, the parentals have been really cool about it. Thanks Mom & Dad! :)

But anyway, since arriving home (by the way, when does home stop being like home?) I’ve been organizing and packing everything logically so that the big move to State College goes as smoothly as possible! Along with that, I’ve been finishing up some last minute DIY projects, paying some of the final deposits, and making phone calls to our vendors.

It’s finally here!

What did you ladies do during your final push? Or, how do you envision the final weeks before your big day?!

I don’t live with my fiance and he won’t let me move in until after the wedding. (DANG traditionalist!) But my mothers house DEFINATELY looks like that! Since I live on my own, it’s easier to keep everything in one place so when we need to transport it, it’s all right there.

Good luck on your big day!! :)

My parents just invested in some clear tote bins so that my stuff would stop taking over the whole livingroom! Wedding stuff has a way of spreading.

I can’t wait to be reunited with our wedding goods this summer. I keep sending stuff to my parent’s house and the closet they keep it is getting mighty full. Yay for your final push!

Our basement is trending toward looking like that and we’ve got 9.5 months to go. I’m pretty sure it’ll be full-on box-land by the time we have 2 weeks to go.

We’re getting married during the 2 weeks off I have for winter break in between clerkships…that week before the wedding is going to be pretty crazy but I’m pretty sure adrenaline will get us through it.

Good luck!

I’ve lived on my own since I left for college (where has time gone? it’s been 7 years…)

I kept calling my mom’s house “home,” and it got confusing…so I started calling it “her house,” and she got defensive and stated it will always be my home too! Now that we are married “home” is our home…and my mom’s house is “my mom’s”

Oh wow! I didn’t realize there were Bee bloggers in or from the burgh! (I’m a native pittsburgher too!)

You have some awesome parents to let you stash stuff at their house. My father would put up a fuss if I tried to store anything wedding-esque at his house (he’s always giving me boxes of our childhood stuff each time I stop by.) =)

I have a little corner in the basement that’s dedicated to wedding stuff. Mom and dad don’t mind as look as it’s tucked out of sight in the basement ;-)

I still think of my parents’ house as home…I think it’s okay.

It’s been beautiful in State College lately — a little rainy this weekend, but still warm! I will keep my fingers crossed for your wedding weather to be just as lovely.

Oh I’m so glad I’m not the only one whose house looked like that right before the wedding! Except we were in an apartment so there was literally no escape!

GOGOGOGOGOGOGO! You’re almost there. :)

For some reason, when I read “the final push,” I was all, “ZOMG BURGER BABIES?!” Yeah.

P.S. Along with my other ridiculously off-topic statement, I think that I should warn you– if you ever have children, when they are babies, they’ll be called sliders. You know, cause of the small burger thing. (I really should sleep more).

@sapphirebride: that was our other choice! We chose Burger’s spring break instead :) He’s taking a shelf Thursday, getting married Saturday, and honeymooning that week until he starts surgery! Yikes! :)

@alivoo01: thanks!!! :)

@Miss Scissors: I seriously almost changed the name because of that…. haha guess I should have! :) Silders - HOW CUTE OMG. You are so not helping my fever ;)

@Miss Pug: it’s ridiculous - YOU ARE ALMOST THERE TOO! Yay pug! :)

@Miss Parfait: thanks! good luck to you too, lady :)

@Ms. Mojito: DATE TWIN OMG amazing!! :) My final fitting is tomorrow! I’m so excited! Good luck with the seating chart, blah - my least favorite thing second only to the actual guest list! GOOD LUCK! :)
