I Call Fives!

March 16th, 2010 @ 9:32 am by Mrs. Cheeseburger

I’ve loved the trend of decorating the bride’s and groom’s chairs at weddings since the first time I saw it. Here are some inspiration pictures I’ve saved over our engagement:

Aren’t they gorgeous?

I really wanted to try to create something for our chairs, but I really wasn’t sure which direction to go in. Plus, at this point in planning, I’m not really into projects that require a lot of time or energy.

Then I remembered that I had some fabric rosettes left over from our flower girl sashes, and I got an idea. After sewing some rosettes together and attaching some ribbon, I had these:

One for Burger’s chair, and one for mine (shown here together because I’m lazy) :)

Are you decorating your chairs? If so, with what?

I think I’m going to make some sort of “Bride” “Groom” seat signs. Since we aren’t having assigned seating for our dinner, I want to make sure we’re in the center of the family-style table so we can chat with everyone!

I love the title of this post! It really took me back to high school when “fives” were the only possible way to save your seat!

love the rosettes! I don’t know if we’ll have chair signage, since I don’t know how I’d attach it to the chair since it will have a chair cover already..but I really like chair signs! :)

I love this trend and you did right by it. Our wedding theme is Eat Drink and Be Married, so I’m going to tie ribbons to the back like the second to last picture and tie vintage forks and spoons to the bottom that I’ve been collecting at flea markets.

It is a cute tradition. I haven’t quite decided if it’s something we want to do, but if we do it will likely be one of those lovely distressed-wood signs from Etsy saying Bride and Groom.

That’s cute! We’re doing pillows fun pillows - which I bought at Pier 1 on sale and match our whole “circles” thing we’re doing.
