I Heart My Bridesmaids

March 17th, 2010 @ 12:47 pm by Mrs. Lace

My bridesmaids have been awesome and supportive, but I think it’s because I haven’t asked them to tie a thousand bows or cut and fold a million sheets of paper… yet. Oh, just you wait, girls!

However, with boxes of jewelry from J.Crew, my almost finished sash and dress in hand, I was at a complete loss with my total look for the day. Which bracelet? Which pair of earrings? What direction should the sash go? I had been staring at everything so long that I didn’t feel like I could make a good decision anymore. I needed help… desperately!

I decided to ask MOH Lace (you may have seen her around as a commenter named Best Friend Lace) and BM Lace-dini (her dad’s a magician) over to my place to give me a hand. I decided early on that if I asked anyone to help me with wedding stuff, I would make sure they were fed. So, we began with this:

Don’t judge me. It’s about 100 days to the wedding and I have NO qualms having me animal style cheeseburger. I would’ve had my own fries if MOH Lace hadn’t been watching out and asked to share.

After stuffing our faces, I slipped into my dress and put the sash on to see how it looked and if I needed to change things around. If you’ve been following me, I said I wouldn’t reveal my dress, but I changed my mind. :) What do you think?!

Is that sauce on my face? :) Anyway, they adjusted the sash to the right, then to the left, then to the middle and then flipped it upside down. I’m holding it because we didn’t want to wrinkle the satin just yet.

Here’s a close up of the sash. The fabrics ended up coming together pretty well.

We were also trying to choose between the necklace, bracelet and earrings, which you probably can’t see here. However, I did decide on a bracelet and earrings. I’m back on the search for a gold colored necklace that isn’t too heavy or chunky looking. So, the night ended and I knew what I needed to return, what I needed to purchase and what I was ready to put away until the big day!

I haven’t tried on my dress for several months and my dress feels a little tighter than when I first purchased it so I guess I should cut out the cheeseburgers and the dessert we decided to eat afterwards. :) Okay, I promise to eat healthier starting… NOW!

@Ms Potato Chips: I do, don’t they! They have to fit into BM dresses and they still ate with me. :)

@bridecat: Thanks, I was worried after the black envelope debacle!

Is that Watters Maria?!?! If so, I am going to be so jealous. I think that is the one dress I said I had to try on before buying one. However, I guess I shouldn’t be that jealous because I found one I like just as much (Watters Audrey same as Miss Cheeseburger) and I didn’t even think about Maria when I made the decision to buy it. Sometimes I wish I still could have tried it on though! You look beautiful and I LOVE the sash.

@ALu731: Good eye!! Yes, it’s the Maria. The salesperson, after listening to all my heart’s desires, made me try it on and I fell in love with it. I was initially looking for that bodice, but with a plain skirt. I looked up the Audrey and that one is gorgeous too! :)

@Miss French Fries, @SanDiegoAli, @mimi06d, @lallison: Thank you girls. I didn’t feel that great with that cheeseburger in my stomach. :)

@Theresa90405: Ooh so only a month until In’n'Out time! :)

Nice dress. I love dress posts. Unfortunately both of my MOH and Bridesmaid lived in a Different state, so that weren’t ale to help much.

That sash looks AMAZING with your dress (which, btw, is beautiful)! I love the contrast between the black and white. Also, animal style is the only proper way to eat In-n-Out burgers. That is one thing I make room for in my bridal diet!

Wait, a black sash or use of black is bad luck? Eh, I make my own luck - I have a black belt on my dress, too. Miss Lace, you look HEAVENLY in your dress…don’t sweat the In-n-Out!

And I totally feel you on how MARVELOUS BMs can be! Mine have helped me with deciding flowers, the hair, oh COUNTLESS little decisions…LOVE my girls! Huzzah for awesome BMs!
