Mrs. Spaniel's Picture
Mrs. Spaniel, Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 28, Law Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Psychologist Wedding Date: March 2010 Venue: Calamigos Ranch About Me: I'm a third-year law student trying to balance graduating with starting my career, keeping up a relationship, and, oh yeah, planning an Old World, multi-cultural, "mountain lodge" wedding for 180 guests! A South Asian Jewish girl getting ready to marry my handsome Catholic Dane, I'm hoping to blend our cultures in our wedding just a bit more gently than by providing samosas as appetizers and offering æbleskiver for dessert. (Although that would also be awesome.)
About Mrs. Spaniel

For some reason, I’ve been somewhat resistant to playing Hava Nagila at the wedding. Then I accidentally heard this version, and was sold.

Of course, after further consideration, I realized that people trying to run in circles on a dance floor at a pace to keep up with this tempo could be dangerous!

So, armed with the realization that traditional songs could be made fun and new, I searched on! And what I found? Pure gold, I tell you, pure gold.

(The good stuff starts at about 0:22.)

Tell me you’ve ever seen anything that funny anywhere. Go on, I dare you. You’re lying.

Wow - that’s just . . . wow. WHat’s with the creepy George Michael-esque dude hanging around in the background? And the Indian Elvis?

Its like… Bollywood, mixed with Jewish, with a dash of George Michael and a pinch of Saturday Night Fever… There are no words.

I think that the BP needs to learn this choreography, and perform it interspersed with the traditional dance. yes yes?! ;)

At first I thought the yellow shirts had the star trek logo on them! (I’m still not sure what that is… it might actually be!) Most random video… ever.

That is hilarious! That would be the ONE dance at my wedding, because I would surely be dying somewhere behind the scenes after all that choreography! LOL! The song is catchy, though!
