A Band for the Mister

March 18th, 2010 @ 10:45 am by Mrs. Jellyfish

The other weekend while we were at Macy’s for our registry, I suggested we browse their wedding band selection. I’d seen some pretty bands there before, and as Macy’s always has sales going on, I figured there might be some good deals. Well, I’m glad we took a look because Mr. Jelly found his wedding band! It’s a 5 mm wide, white gold and platinum band. It’s got a brushed platinum center surrounded by white gold. We both loved it right when we saw it. He had been looking for something classic but unique – a little more than just a plain band. The brushed platinum center was just the right amount of embellishment.

The best part of it all?

The price. Macy’s really came through on this one. Due to some sale they were having, it was already 30% off, then 15% off of that, and we opened up a Macy’s card to get another 20% off. In the end, it ended up costing a fraction of the original price and was very much within our budget – we basically got a platinum/white gold ring for the a white gold price. Gotta love Macy’s!

Where did you find your wedding bands? Did you find any awesome deals in unexpected places?

Very nice! I wish my FI would just pick one already. All of a sudden he decided he wants a ring with a hardwood inlay so now we are starting the search over trying to find the right one. Who knew boys could be so picky about jewelry?

Ahh, I love a good deal!!! We had originally had our rings all picked out but then our jeweler flaked on us so we had to go out and do it all again just 2 months before our wedding. We shopped around for prices on what we liked then called the jeweler we liked the most and asked if he could work on prices for us. He actually matched the competition! I’m so excited and they should be ready in the next week or 2. I can’t wait!!!

Fantastic! My FI’s ring was only $150 because it’s stainless steel and will hold up much better than gold due to his profession and my ring was bought at an outlet store for a major store and due to discounts/sales going on I got a .50 tcw band for a GREAT price :)
