Anxiety Dreams

March 21st, 2010 @ 7:40 pm by Mrs. Lace

When people ask how planning is going, I smile and say, “It’s going great!” To people I know better, I say, “There’s still a lot to do,” but still with a fake smile plastered to my face.

But in reality, I feel like this:

Anxiety Dreams : wedding emotional san diego Stresse01 stresse01

(source)

For real… with my head about 10 times larger than my body, ready to explode! I am super stressed out even though I’m sure 3 months is plenty of time to finish everything. It’s just so much!

I’ve had a headache every day this week because of wedding planning. This will pass. I made a plan this weekend for what I am going to do every day for the next few weeks. Mr. Lace and I have a couple of days off and we’ll be hard at work getting that difficult stuff planned.

I’m having anxiety dreams too.

For example, in one dream, the flowers showed up in boxes and I was in the reception hall in my wedding dress, arranging flowers. In the second dream, we ran out of time for a rehearsal so I was barking instructions to everyone as I was standing up at the altar.

Breathe, Miss Lace, breathe. It will all get finished. Whatever doesn’t get finished, doesn’t get finished.

I went to work out and I felt a lot better afterwards. Well, minus feeling sore, tired and sweaty. I felt better emotionally. :) The three cookies I ate afterwards also helped me feel better.

Are you experiencing stress or anxiety dreams about your wedding? What do you do to de-stress?

I keep having a dream where I forget to make my flower for my dress and I am sitting at home sewing while the wedding is taking place and no one seems to realize I’m not there!

I know how you feel! The wedding nightmares have just started for me, and I am really struggling to remember to put one foot in front of the other :P

I have had so many stress dreams and have been clenching my teeth so hard during sleep that I even broke a molar. Exercise–yoga particularly–is helping.

Just keep breathing, just keep breathing. As someone who had the same exact feelings as you, i’m here to tell you that it’ll all work out in the end. Look into drinking peppermint tea—it calms your stomach. I also had two (yup, two) massages the week of the wedding and I made sure I didn’t have anything going on the week of the wedding. And remember…just keep breathing :)

The wedding nightmares are the worst. Sometimes I feel like everything is going fine and then when I have dreams like that I start to stress during my awake time.

Ha I’ve had dreams where I have to run the 3 miles to church. In sweats. No make up, nothing.
Classic anxiety stuff. It is gtting annoying though… I feel like I talk about nothing else! It’s on my mind last thing at night, I’m dreaming about candy buffets, and I’m somehow designing invites before I’m properly awake in the morning!
Sure we’ll get through it! Everyone always says it’ll work out fine… let’s give them the benefit of the doubt!

oh man I can relate with the crazy dreams! Mine typically are centered around not having my hair or makeup done, or my dress falling apart. Coincidentally, I had a no hair, no makeup dream last night!

I sympathize with you Lace!
About 2 months before my wedding, I had wedding nightmare. I dreamed that the entire garden venue that I had booked was covered in cement. Including every flower and tree. It was pretty surreal!

Like a good neighbor, Wedding Bee is there.

And I totally feel the same way. I had the 4 month “mini-meltdown” and just stopped caring about the fine details. It was really straining our relationship with me constantly worried about something and him letting it roll off his back.

I am a June Bride and understand you totally. There is no easier way to say it: “It will all work out”

I’ve been there with anxiety dreams before and starting to get them again (wedding related this time). As everyone’s been saying, the best thing is to find some relaxation. Tons of stress dreams = Lack of good/beauty sleep = unhappy bride. But June isn’t too far away… I’m worried as I’ve got 6 mo and starting to have stress dreams. Guess I gotta up the xanax. ;)

I completely understand Miss Lace! My wedding is at the end of July and I feel like I always have all of these ‘to-dos’ hanging over my head…four months to go and my florist just backed out AND one of my two MOHs looks like she’s chosen an internship out of the country and could possibly be missing my wedding- sticky situation

I feel like I’ll have some dreams tonight after reading the posts lol

Major Anxiety!!! I can def relate to the headache. I had a tension headache for a few weeks straight b/c I just could not stop thinking of all I had to do. Even when I made lists, my mind wouldn’t stop, I couldn’t sleep.

Thankfully, my wedding is THIS FRIDAY! So, it will soon all be behind me.

Hang in there, Lace. You’ll make it! :)

It IS so much to do…I had no idea! Eloping might have been a viable option had I known, lol

I had a dream where I was walking down the aisle, and there was no music, and when I got to the end of the aisle, there was nobody there to marry us! I ran back inside the house we rented (in my dream) and started googling for an officiant. Sigh. Wedding anxiety dreams are the worst! I feel you!

A couple stress-induced freakouts later in my planning, it definitely helps to vent to your FI or a good girlfriend/BM. Then, it helped to stop thinking about it as best I could. Focus on work, a nice magazine (not any of the bridal ones ;) ), TV, or a new restaurant in your area.
