Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

All My Dresses

March 22nd, 2010 @ 11:18 am by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

For me, it wasn’t just about the wedding dress, it was about each and every one of the dresses I would wear to all the wedding activities. Early in the planning process, I started scouting out dresses to wear even though I wasn’t exactly sure what purpose they would serve. This might have been a little dangerous, but I don’t have a dress in my closet I haven’t found a purpose for yet, so I feel good about it.

So, the major activities I have coming up are: the bachelorette party, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding after party.

First up, the bachelorette party:

All My Dresses : wedding dallas dress 15 1

This dress is by Shoshanna, and I got it at Neiman Marcus Last Call massively on sale. It was originally $350, but I only paid $60. I am in love. I am pairing the dress with some red heels from Steve Madden. Here’s a close up of the shoes:

Up next, the rehearsal dinner:

All My Dresses : wedding dallas dress 34 3

I also got this dress from Neiman Marcus Last Call and it’s by Cynthia Steffe, and again I got it for a major discount. It was originally $440, but I got it for $40. I will pair this with the same red shoes.

Lastly, I have the wedding after party:

All My Dresses : wedding dallas dress 43 4

I got this dress from Nordstrom and it’s Phoebe Couture. Sadly, it’s too big and I will need to get it altered. I’m trying to hold it tight in the picture, hence the weird arm placement. I will pair this with my something blue shoes (I just didn’t feel like putting them on).

So what do you think? Do you think I got all the dresses right, or should I switch it around and pick a different dress for a different event?

Great choices! I would switch the rehearsal dinner dress (IMHO) to something more figure-flattering like the other 2.

Love the shoes!!!

This is just a suggestion, but I think the rehearsal dinner dress would look super cute with a belt of some sort! It would pull the look together :)

@Tessa: the dress has a low back, which I should have shown, so a belt wouldn’t work.

LOVE your shoes! Tres tres chic!! I think you definitely matched the dresses to the right events…but I agree with @Tessa that the RD dress could use a little “something” to enhance your waist. With a low-back, I’m not sure what it is…or maybe really dress it up with accessories?

I bought the Pheobe Couture dress in navy for an RD dress!! And like you I fell in love with it so much that I bought the only one the store had left that was 3 sizes to big on clearance and will alter it! SOOO stinking cute! General announcement: they currently have it this season in pink if anyone is wondering!

Ah. so totally no belt.

I think that the second dress could do with some long beaded necklace. (there are some cute ones at places like Old Navy right now) That would give you more a “long” look, and could also be a pop of color if you wanted.

The other two dress are great, and I am in LOVE with your super hot shoes.

I would switch dress 3 with dress 2. Wear something more form fitting for the rehearsal.

I am also wearing the Pheobe Couture dress but for the RD.:) I’m wearing a gold skinny belt and gold shoes with it.
Love it! Got it here on WB from another bride :)
I think it looks great on you Miss. Fro Yo.
I do agree with some of the above posters that the middle dress could use something..belt or fun bangles? How are you wearing your hair, cause that might jazz up the dress if you did something fancy… Just a thought :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Phoebe dress. That was a dress I tried to order (I think after you featured it on your blog) and the order went through but they later said the dress had sold out. I was major bummed. Looks adorable though! Great line up!
