The Cards Have Been Sent

March 22nd, 2010 @ 5:33 pm by Mrs. Nachos

Our invitations were finished. They were printed. They were stamped. They sat in a box for 2 weeks in my kitchen. Then finally, I got a bug up my butt and decided to stamp and stuff them. The last thing I wanted to do was go back and seal them all.

Mr. Nachos to the rescue…

After napping through my stuffing, he figured the least he could do was glue!

Doggies wanted to help but getting glue out of their fur wouldn’t be much fun so I told them they could watch. Mr. N glued all 68 invitations and they went out in the mail last Wednesday. And guess what? We already got one back saying yes… at least we know two people will be there! We’re getting down to the wire now! :)

Were you excited to get RSVPs back? Are you worried like me that you’ll end up making endless phone calls because people won’t send them back?

Yes….mine are due the end of this month. I am getting them back, however…without their names on them. Looks like I’m gonna have to make some phone calls.

We still have over a month until the RSVPs are due, but I’m still worried–we’ve already received blank cards back… fail.

I’m actually disappointed that everyone so far has written their name down… I bought a sweet blacklight pen and marked everyone’s name on their card, and I want an excuse to play sleuth with my blacklight!

I’m at the same step - stuffed, stamped, printed, just need to seal them before we move the week they go out. Otherwise we wont have an address for them to come back to! We did mark each on the back in small pencil a # so we’ll know if we get blank ones.

Getting RSVPs was definitely exciting. A lot more so than I expected actually! My deadline for the responses is 2 days from now (I’m getting married on April 24!). As of yesterday, there was a whole slew of people I hadn’t heard back from yet, but I sent them all a friendly email reminder to RSVP (with a link to do it online) and most of them did it immediately! Now I will only have 3-4 phone calls to make. Success!

We contemplated putting a mark on the back of each card, but we just put number attending and name lines on the form. I just hope they all notice. I’m trying to think back to the RSVP card I just sent back to someone. I don’t remember writing our names on that one. Maybe I should check with her.

I wonder how long it will take to get some RSVPs back. I mailed them this morning.

Not to scare you, but 86 of our over 180 invitees didn’t respond and had to be called. I obnoxiously called them the day after the RSVP date (it was Sunday, so I knew it would be the best time to get people).

Getting RSVPs were fun. You will have to do some wrangling though. :)

everytime i check the mail it’s like getting a birthday card with money, only no birthday and no money, but just as exciting! i’m def terrifed of the endless phone calling, cause people- i don’t really wanna have a convo, just tell me if your coming or not(really we wouldn;t have this problem if you had just mailed the darn thing back) lol

I loved getting my RSVP’s back. At the end though it is frustrating because some people won’t send them back.

I love getting mail, so the rsvp’s have been really fun. I only have 75 people and three more weeks to go till rsvping deadline and i’ve heard back from one third. I found everyone has been pretty prompt in sending back rsvp’s so far.

The dreaded follow up phone call - let’s hope it doesn’t have to go there!
