About Mrs. Taco

Close, but No Cigar

March 23rd, 2010 @ 3:58 pm by Mrs. Taco

Mr. Taco asked me one night (after a couple glasses of wine) whether he could just see my wedding dress. “If you don’t ask, you don’t get” is one of my favorite sayings, so kudos to him. But the answer was still no, and it came with a good-natured laugh at his expense. Hey, it’s like we’re married already!

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to post pics of the dresses that didn’t make it. Most of these are from Rin’s Bridal in San Carlos, and the last one is from my first go at Glamour Closet in San Francisco.

It might seem silly, but I feel like you really do just know when you find her.

How did it feel when you found your wedding dress?

Those are lovely!
For me, it wasn’t a lightning bolt kind of knowing, it was more of a “this is the dress I’ll be wearing on that day”. I felt like ME in it.

I knew I found my dress when I saw another girl wearing it and I wanted to tear it off of her!! :p

Yup, I felt like the dress was definitely “me”—just a much fancier dress than I’ve ever worn before! HAHA Plus I felt comfortable and amazing—I beamed and teared too.

It was one of the only ones that fit perfectly… and I bawled like a baby when I looked in the mirror… you just… KNOW! There’s no other way to describe it.

@Amber: Yay! I love my tats and they’ll show proudly on Big Day. Oh, man what do I have…

A lotus and stars on my back/shoulder, a hand and a pen writing, a sun from the flag of the Philippines combined with sugar cane (ode to heritage), and one of these <3 on my right wrist. It matches Mr. Lotus :)

When you just smile and the dress you wearing satisfies 90% of your criteria (given you have a budget to keep to) - I think it’s a winner! *drum rolls* for the gown that will make it’s big debut soon!

@Miss Hot Wings: Thanks! I’ve actually since upgraded to newer, more square ones, but I still love thick plastic frames!

You look beautiful in all of those dresses so I’m interested in seeing what you chose. I knew my dress was the one because I just did not want to take it off.

I had no feelings for the dresses at all when I was trying them on! So much so that I went out and got my own dress custom made! It’s exactly what I want because I got to pick every bit of it.

Thank you, ladies! I think I came up with a winner, which will be plastered all over the Taco section of this site in less than five months!

@Miss Taco: I meant Mr. Taco, haha. I tried to grab Miss Lotus, but none such name existed here among the bees!

I was so indecisive, it’s good you took photos, going home and looking at the photos really helped me make my decision. I was deciding between to, but realized later, one looked really unflattering in the photos. Can’t wait to see what you pick!

I love your choices, as you and I have similar taste. That second dress is my favorite!
