Hive, I did it. I went all the way. And my first time was with a girl named Brandi.

I have to say for my first pedicure – I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. It was a little weird having someone clipping my toenails. Ew, it even sounds gross in my head even though it’s already happened. OK, I’m not gonna lie, it was a lot weird having someone rubbing lotion between my toes. But I’m determined to make my toadies look their best for the wedding.

And the massage chair was excellent; I wanted to take it home with me but I couldn’t figure out how to get it past the receptionist. Oh and Brandi… Brandi was awesome – one of those ’round peg in a square hole’ types that had me laughing the whole time. And here they are… I present to you my deflowered tootsies…

I promised Brandi I would come in to see her for my wedding pedicure, and with us being a month out, it’ll be perfect timing! I’ll definitely be going with something a little more pink for the wedding, though.

Do you have any toe color recommendations that would look good for an island wedding?

My “all year” color is red (when all else fails, I go red).
My summer colors are orange and hot pink.

My “first time” was about a month before the wedding and now I’m addicted! I mess them up so much from running though, so I only go before very special occassions!

I loooooooove pedicures!! My feet never feel as soft as when I leave the nail salon, and my nails never look as pretty when I try to paint them myself. I also agree that you’ll soon be addicted

my go-to summer polishes are a tomato color from maybelline express (idk the name) and peony by essie on my fingers. the orange-red and bright pink are so fun together!

I like OPI’s “You’re such a kabuki queen” A really fun bright pink.

However, I don’t know if anyone has warned you about this, but there are LOTS of iguanas in St. Thomas, esp. at Sugar Bay. They are sort of blind and they love fruit. I have heard horror stories about them mistaking brightly painted toes for cherries! When I went there, I stuck with silver polish ;o)

I like OPI Chapel of Love - Plus the name is so wedding appropriate. It is a bright pink but it would look cute for an island wedding…

My go-to polish is OPI “No I’m not really a waitress”. It goes with everything! Another idea would be to get the french nails on your toes (since you are new to the pedicure world) it’s where they paint the ends of your nails white and then a pail pink for the rest of the nail. Like this!

Or if you don’t want the expense of getting the french style at the nail salon, they sell DIY french nail kits at any store.

Coral flatters everybody; although, many people don’t realize this. It’s more pink-ish, nice and bright for an island wedding, and has the unique property of making you look more tan. I would definitely go with coral!

I didn’t have my first pedicure until I was 34 right before my wedding too! I’m pretty good at painting my nails myself but wanted a professional pedicure for the wedding day.
