We Saved the Date

March 23rd, 2010 @ 4:55 pm by Mrs. Argyle

And mailed ‘em out.

The Mr. and I drove to the post office to send off our Save the Dates, and it just so happened to be a crappy and rainy day out. So, up to the mailboxes I pulled to drop them in; and I prayed that they didn’t get rained on during the transfer between my car and the mailbox. Mr. A even so nicely offered to get out of the car and come around with the umbrella to hold it over the space between my car and the mailbox, but I turned down his offer (which was very sweet of him). It only took a few minutes to drop all 180 in the mail, and we were on our way.

Now, don’t think I wouldn’t share them with you!

While the finished product does not look anything like our invitation suite (or like the originals I designed), they still have the same colors and similar monogram. We wanted them to be a bit more fun, and use one of our e-sesh photos so guests can save them.

So, without further hesitation, here they are!

On the finished product we ended up having the corners rounded. They were printed on 100% recycled paper and were then UV coated so they were glossy like a postcard. We ended up mailing them in a bright red envelope with the wrap around label I designed (which matches well with the design on our cards)!

Both the Mr. and I are very pleased with how they turned out – and we received so many compliments from guests (which I was not expecting). Several of them ended up framing them!

And, even though the design is pretty simple, we are happy with how it ties into our full suite, without being too matchy matchy.

Did your save the dates match your invitation suite? Or did you go a different route?

Cute!

They’re matching in general style and somewhat with one shared Pantone color, but not exactly. Going too matchy-matchy with everything didn’t appeal to me so much!

Where did you have them printed? I’m finding that 100% recycled paper is hard to find :(
