About Mrs. Lace

Yes. No. Maybe So.

March 23rd, 2010 @ 5:20 pm by Mrs. Lace

I was an indecisive person to begin with, and then I began planning our wedding. I am hit in the face with wedding-related decisions every day and I’m finding that every decision I make takes a lot longer than I want it to. It takes so much research, analyzing and thinking before I can make finally make up my mind about something. Don’t believe me??! Please, walk with me…

  1. Clipboards. Yes. Clipboards. I wanted to get my two friends, who will be my day of coordinators, clipboards to hold all the important papers for the day such as contracts, checks, schedules, contact lists, etc. But in order for me to finally pull the trigger, I visited Staples, Target, Office Depot, Office Max and searched online. I finally pulled the trigger on a clipboard case from Office Depot. That decision took me a few weeks when it probably should’ve taken me 5 minutes.
  2. Bridesmaids’ dresses. I probably bought five different dresses that I showed one or more bridesmaids to see what they thought. I settled on a dress, FINALLY, then drove high and low to collect the dresses. After passing out the dresses and having all my bridesmaids try them on, I found another one that I liked more. So, I collected the dresses and returned them all before going to buy the next BM dress.
  3. Sash. Remember that post? Well, for that one, the hive helped me make that decision because I ended going with the option that most people liked which I was leaning toward anyway since it was a bit less cluttered looking. Thanks guys! Can I hire you as my executive decision maker? No? You’re busy planning a wedding too? Darn.

So, I guess I’ll need one of these then - the Original Decision Maker.

When unsure about ANYTHING, give it a flick and listen to whatever the necklace says.

Have you had a hard time making wedding-related decisions?

Haha, I totally need one of those necklaces, myself!
FH, and I haven’t even set a date, yet, and I’m already questioning what I thought I wanted.. small ceremony? Colour palette? Do I even want to get married in the spring? Fall? UGH! You’d think that I’d have a better grasp on stuff, since I waited 9 years for the proposal, lol.. things should have already been planned! :P

Maybe a magic 8 ball can help you too.. heehee.. I feel ya. I have bought 4 possible BM dresses to date. And I ended up picking a dress I never bought. Oh well, it happens. Recently, I’ve had to force myself to just start making decisions for the sake of making decisions. It’s hard stuff!

@HisPookie: I feel like sometimes it’s harder if you’ve been anticipating a wedding for a long time!! You’ll figure it out. :)

@Miss Hot Wings: Seriously!! I am no longer looking for the hottest deals. I’m just trying to get it done!!

Is this the indecisive band wagon because I so need to hop on! I’m always over analyzing something unnecessary - blah!

I have a hard time doing anything decision-related lately! I feel like I’m at a total standstill with planning sometimes. :p

I totally understand you! I am only having a very small wedding with a total of 31 people on the list, including myself, FI, our 3 children, minister & his wife, and the photographer. Should be pretty simple to plan, since we’re not having a whole big reception, etc.

But……I’m on my 3rd color of dresses for our 2 little girls. I’ve changed my mind about our place for our reception dinner. I’ve changed my mind back & forth several times about whether to do invites. I’ve also visited several craft stores & scoured the internet for cake toppers, invites, favor ideas, decor, etc….

Ahhhhhh!!!! Send one of those necklaces my way! :)

I’m so that way too! I laughed out loud about your clipboard dilemma. Seriously, only a bride would stress over that. I find myself agonizing over things that a year ago, I would have SLAPPED myself for stressing out over!

I can so relate to this! I’ve found that I’m making so many decisions all the time about the wedding, that sometimes, when I need to decide on something trivial in my everyday life, like what I’m going to order at a restaurant, I totally freeze! (And that necklace is totally cute! I want one!)

(It kinda looks like a Time Turner from Harry Potter…anyone, anyone?)

Funny that, as my wedding-related decisions have largely been very easy (dress, color, style, etc.) for this classic Libra non-decision-maker!

Surprisingly, wedding decisions haven’t been too bad. I’m typically super indecisive, but with the wedding decisions have been coming pretty easily. Completely not typical! Only time I was indecisive really was the dress.

My decisions have not been too too bad. My normally indecisive self has stepped it up in the wedding planning realm. Side note: who knew it was so hard to find a clipboard?!?!

@farmersdaughter: I think I’ve lost some common sense along the way!

@Miss Taco: YES! I thought that, but didnt’ write it in my post. :) I’m glad it’s been easy for SOMEONE! :)

@Miss Starfish: Go yoU! I just can’t make up my mind, but I’m resolving to make faster decisions.

@jordynrose: I know I wanted a lot from a lil’ old clipboard. :\

That necklace is adorable!

I definitely had my share of wedding indecisiveness, but I’ve gotten down to deciding a moving forward…to many frickin’ decisions!

Oh my gosh.. so me. I’ve changed things so many times, I don’t remember what the original wedding looked like! I think the clipboard one was hysterical.

I thought I was indecisive-you’ve got me beat with the clipboard thing! I drove around collecting BM sashes that weren’t even my idea!
