We met, fell in love, got engaged, and will be married at our alma mater (go lions!) in a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a hotel reception with lots of DIY details. It means so much to have our families and friends meet at our favorite place on earth to celebrate our love for one another - I truly couldn't ask for anything more!
About Mrs. Cheeseburger

So remember all the crap you saw in my parents’ house here? Guess what I did this week? I made it worse.

120 9″ gable boxes worth of worse.

You see, I’ve been pretty stoked about our Out of Town Boxes for quite some time, and while we originally thought that we would be assembling the boxes on-site at Penn State, we recently had a change of heart. I’ve been in go, go, go mode ever since arriving in Pittsburgh, and I just couldn’t let them sit.

So, I got to work, slowly filling each box (side note, reaching in and out of gable boxes 1,000 times can really scratch up your arms)…

Aaaaand We're Renting a Truck. : wedding decor pittsburgh Februar029 I’m glad they’re done, and now we’ve just got to secure the boxes in a way that makes them safe for traveling and efficient for transport into the venue.

The title of this post is kind of a fib though, because we probably would have had to rent a truck anyway, we’ve just got that much stuff. I guess I was just feeling a little dramatic today so bear with me. :)

Are any of you ladies renting transportation to “move” into your wedding location? I remember reading Mrs. Lemonade’s recaps thinking ‘this is so gonna be us.’ YEP!

Happy wedding week, March 27th brides!

So, about those last minute cancellations… Any chance a person might snag one for the sake of laying hands on that box? Those are awesome!

those are looking awesome and how exciting that the wedding is almost here for you!!

I remember reading Mrs. Lemonade’s post the week of our wedding thinking that was exactly where I was headed. We didn’t have to rent a van…we did however have both of our dad’s stop at our house on their way to our wedding venue to pick up a “few things” since they both drive trucks or large suvs. Oh…and I “might” have made a trip to the venue the weekend before to drop off 5 or 6 boxes full of milk glass/table decorations/etc.

Just a thought, what if you don’t close them for the time being? Find a larger box, make several stacks inside the big box (if they wouldn’t be too heavy and crush the contents). You could close up the top ones, and stuff some news paper ontop to keep them from moving aroudn too much. Then close them all up when you get to your destination.

LOVE the OOT boxes. I’m just starting to think about what to put in mine. Yours are awesome!

Also, we’re definitely accumulating a lot of stuff, and I have no idea how it’s all getting to the venue…..77 lbs. of candy are arriving sometime this week! Ack!

Hope your wedding is wonderful. Will be looking forward to your recaps!

Love those OOT bags! I keep going back and forth on whether or not I’ll be doing them, but it just looks like so much fun!

LOL, we’re renting a Uhaul truck too, to get all the stuff to our venue!

I love how your gable OOT boxes turned out, by the way! I’m working on our kraft gable OOT boxes right now, actually, but luckily we only have to decorate 29 of them, since our wedding isn’t out of town for everyone.

A truck will definately be in the plans. We are an hour plus from our wedding venue, so will need to make one big trip. Ah, the DIY burden.

Yep, we bought a uhaul type trailer to get us home (a few states away) and get all the wedding crap there….even though we’re purging a lot of furniture from our current place, the room we’ll be making will just be filled with more boxes of junk. I hope I can keep it all straight!
