I love shopping. For myself especially (ha!), but for others even more so. Why? Because then I don’t have “the guilt”. There’s nothing quite like absolving yourself of shopping sins by playing the gift card:
Sales Associate: Wow, you uh… really cleaned up the shelves, huh?
Hamster: Oh, no no no. You see, these are gifts.
Associate: Ahh, OK then.
The wonderful thing about shopping for my bridesmaids was that it was actually true.
I first looked at the old bridesmaid gift standby - monogrammed totes and personalized flip-flops. My honest reaction? Not too enthused.
Eh.
Totes and flops are practical - you can always use more totes and flops! The thing is, my bridesmaids already have their bags of choice and their comfy Havaianas.
Unlike the Mister, my bridesmaids actually *do* read my posts - so consider this fair warning to scram, ladies! (Or you don’t have to. Up to you, no pressure!).
I know that any gift involving a monogrammed tote or shoes with their initials on them would be relegated to the back of the closet. So I did what any practical bride would do—shopped for unpractical gifts. No, I’m not talking about useless tchotchkes—I’m referring to those beautiful items that you pass by in the window but never really buy for yourself. In other words, the fun stuff!
The bridesmaids’ gifts are threefold. First up:
1. Clutchy Goodness
To start, my bridesmaids will get either the Lauren Merkin Eve croc-embossed clutch in patent cobalt, yellow, or kid slate, or the Lauren Merkin Lola in gold.

I love these clutches. They are perfect for a night out in the city and they hold a surprising number of items (I tested one, and it held lip gloss, phone, cash+cards, mints, and point-and-shoot with room to spare). I wish I had bought one for myself!
2. Glowy Glossy
According to Sephora, Rosebud Salve allows the user a “subtle aromatic experience”. Um. Yeah. Anyway, as subtle as the experience may be, I added this to the bridesmaid gift because Rosebud Salve is a really effective lip balm, hand moisturizer, elbow softener, and I’m sure many other things that I haven’t yet tried. I’m always transferring my tin of salve from one bag to another, so with this threesome, my maids can scatter them among their purses and avoid that hassle.
3. Happy Shiny
Finally, I chose these earrings - from Etsy sellers AdornmentsbyWendi (the first two pairs) and allisonmooney (the last pair) to complete the gift.

One of my bridesmaids doesn’t have pierced ears, so I got her this bangle set, also from allisonmooney.

So there you go - somewhat practical, pretty, and tons of fun - just like my bridesmaids.
What will you be giving your bridesmaids?
