About Mrs. Pencils

Aight, so here’s the dilemma. See, I have these recipe cards that I’m going to attach to our favors—sugar cookies made out of an old family recipe all frosted like a globe (yes, we’ve seen my miserable attempts at this before. I am still searching for the right way to decorate them). They look something like this on the front:

I am tying them into our travel theme and thus have stamped the back:

But I’ve also stamped the front, and here is where I need your help. If I stamp the front corners as I’ve done below, can you still read the recipe?

Here’s a close-up:

So, hive, what do you think?

Why not put the stamp on the point? It looks like it’d fit.

I really like the stamp on the front. While I can still read the priting, older guests or those with poorer eyesight might not be able to. How about a lighter shade of green ink (or any of your other colors)?

i like the stamp on the front and it seems like it is still readable. plus i think it adds a nice detail to the front.

I voted for no stamp. I think it looks pretty, and the recipe is still readable, but it looks cleaner and puts more focus on the recipe itself to not have it there.

So cute! And what a great idea!
I can still read it, so I’d say go for it. :)

Why not stamp in the large white space by the tip/point of the card??

@CorgiTales & @Stephanie: Great idea- I was planning on hole punching that area though so that I could tie it to the cookie/bag. However, if it’s cut off it might still be ok :) Thanks!

I love the stamp, but it is tricky to read. Try using a different color ink - Distress inks are made in a deliberately light color, and they don’t come in the weird patterns that are “advertised” on the patterns - but they are the perfect stamps for something that you want to be visible, but in the background.

It’s a little harder to read the parts that have the stamp over it, but I think they are gorgeous! Have you thought of using VersaMark? It is a stamp pad that creates a watermark image. It’s pretty cool, and comes is many different effects (plain, glittery, shimmery- try champagne, that’s what we used). If not that, then I say leave as is.

I’d say keep the stamp (soooo cute!) but maybe use a lighter shade of green, or maybe a watermark?

I agree with the versa ink suggestion or a lighter shade of green. I was also thinking that moving the circle on the top left down a smidge so that the measurement isn’t inked over might help too. I really like how it looks so I would love to see the stamp on the front stay as well. Great job!

I love the stamp, but too thought it might slightly imped the legibility. VersaInk to the rescue!
